The Better Choice
The HTC One is a powerhouse of a machine. The gold features makes it a stand-out during social events. Most people state that its design is superlative to the I-Phone 5 and definitely more sleeker. While I do have a great case, I am afraid of dropping it. It would really damage the phones beauty. I have a fast phone and it does everything that the I-Phone does with just a bit more pizzazz on the features. Camera is excellent in low light and dual front speaker's sound is superlative to every phone out there, Android or IOS. If they ever upgrade this model, it would be even more exciting.Lastly, if you are using the phone for texts and calls only, with some mobile gaming en route to work, the battery is excellent. When I had the I-phone, under similar use from 7AM-7PM, my battery would be at 25-30%. THe HTC One, crazy 70-75% power available.Pleased with this phone. Only thing is that it is difficult to find the myriad of cases and designs that Apple I-Phone has at retail stores. It seems as if Galaxy and I-Phone are the major stocked cases in most retail outlets, including Best Buy.

Great phone, but it overheats.
Okay, guys. I love this phone. I've never had a problem charging it, though I never use the stock charger. I use an Anker dual port charger and only charge it on the lightning port using any standard cord. It does die quickly when on data, but whatever. As with all HTCs, this phone has an overheating problem. DO NOT CHARGE THIS ON ANY CLOTH SURFACES. EVER. It doesn't have a wireless charging capability, which is minorly annoying, but I'm fine with that. I bought this a while back, I think it was late March, and I got it early April. It's a dual SIM so I'm hoping it will work in the UK. I'll update once I'm there. But other than a few hiccups where I've had to restart it due to slow reactions or overheating, this phone works like a dream. I only have it 4 stars due to the overheating problem, which, again, all HTCs have. It works on Straight Talk, just so everyone knows. But I would recommend this phone to pretty much everyone.Edit from the UK: this does indeed work with international SIM cards, even with the American one still in it.

worst purchase ever
This was the worst product I have ever bought on Amazon, and I've been a member for almost 10 years, the seller has the worst service, took months before it arrived, the phone cuts off every 2 hours, screen goes black, the language keeps jump back to mandarin letters, and it even had pictures and a video were they were fixing it, they has a least 50 phones dismantled and spraying them; PEOPLE BE AWARE PRODUCT IS TRASH SELLER IS TOO. I give it A BIG FAT 0 STARS.
