Q: Do I need the original game or can this version be a standalone game?

This version does in fact work as a standalone and can also further supplement the original game but the original isn't necessary to have fun

Q: I heard that the back of the cards in this expension are not identical to the original game cards. Is it true? Can anyone confirm?

I'm sorry but to a person with a keen eye they are DEFINITELY slightly different in color. I proved this at a recent game night by correctly pointing out each expansion card when we turned all the tiles over. Once it was pointed out people finally saw the difference and we couldn't play with them together. Good news is that Bezier Games have sleeves on their official website that you can buy which I say is a must buy.

Q: Does daybreak have the One Night cards in it?

No. Daybreak is an expansion pack that contains different cards than One Night Ultimate Warewolf. It is a great way to switch the game up adding new characters that do different things.

Q: Does Daybreak require a moderator? I want to play too!

You can play Daybreak without a moderator if you use the phone app. The app is rather nice because it tracks the roles for you and announces their powers at night in the correct order. You may however want to use the phone app in addition to a moderator for the first game or two just to get the feel for the game. After everyone knows what they need to do at night, then you can retire the moderator and just use the phone app.
