I bought this toy 5.5 years ago for my first baby, it's now been through three babies, loved and heavily played with by all 3, and still looks/works good as new. Highly highly recommend for ages roughly 9-18mo

I have used this toy when I taught Early Intervention and knew it was a quality gift for my grandson. It is GREAT to develop cause and effect, fine motor control, and great eye-hand coordination. They have a very easy choice to activate the pop-up animal in a button form and they also have other push, pull and turn levers so that the toy grows with your child’s ability. He plays with it contantly. It is light and has a handle so a child can carry it around. You can even use it to play games as they develop their verbal/problem solving skills—-Where’s the Panda? Where’s the Elephant? Great toy!

We bought this toy over two years ago and it's still in great condition. Our little one has played with this toy many times. It's been dropped, tossed, crawled on and the stickers and animals still look new! Even though there's no music or a voice to teach anything there is so much your little ones can do and learn with this. The numbers 1-5 are on the top of each animal. There are five animals and five colors your little one will learn. If your child is just learning to speak this is a great tool besides being a fun toy for them. We use this to teach our little guy many different words such as open, close, twist, slide, etc.. Overall it's a great toy and a fun gift!

We look after children at our church on Sundays and needed some newer, fun toys. We had one of these that turned out to be very popular and highly sought after by multiple children, so we bought two more. They are used every single week. Parents asked where we got them so they can get them for their own homes, and we are going to get a couple for our grandchildren.

This toy is a classic. My kids had a Playskool Poppin' Pals when they were little over 20 years ago, and I just purchased one for my grandson. It is just as well made as the original one we had and just as fun. It's the perfect toy for object permanence and cause and effect, and it helps with fine motor practice with a built in reward when the animal pops up... I've also seen toys like this called a Surprise box. Some of the knobs/buttons are easier than others to use. Ideal toy starting around age 9 months, or when the baby can sit easily and is interested in manipulating knobs and buttons and making things happen.

Very durable, well-made, perfect for our 1 year old’s first birthday. Would just wish they were painted as nicely as our old one was from years ago. The animals are odd colors and the panda is frightening! But its great for teaching little ones coordination and how to push, slide, tap, turn to get the reward of seeing the animal. We used these with our kids to teach color recognition, memory (“where’s the tiger?”), animal recognition and sounds as well as coordination. However, these animals are not like most of the animals our babies have ever seen in more realistic illustrations. Still 4 stars.

I was specifically looking for a toy like this, since I can't find them anywhere anymore! I bought it for my 1-year old son, but my older son who is 2.5 constantly steals it away because he loves it as well. He likes to put thing on top of the hatches so when they open, it flings whatever is on top into the air. Its a great toy for small toddlers and babies who are learning how to use their fingers and manual dexterity. With pushing a button to turning a key, its a great tool to help them learn. This toy even came with a handle built in so you could easily carry it with you. I would definitely purchase again as a gift because all children love this!

This toy is great. My daughter received it for Christmas when she was 9 months old. At that age she couldn't pop up any of the characters. So I would pop them up and she would close the them. We continued playing with it and one by one she learned how to operate each button. The buttons are a little difficult, but she is now 18 months and can now pop up all 5 characters on her own. And she still loves it - it's one of our go-to toys. It was great to see her progression as she figured out each one. No batteries needed, no annoying songs, teaches problem solving, almost a year of amusement - definitely recommended. Update: Getting ready for the arrival of our 2nd daughter my now 3 year old has rediscovered this toy. She likes to put little figures on each door and pop them open sending them flying into the air!

My 2.5 year old loves this, and the 1 year old that I bought it for, loves playing with it too. Great toy across all ages. Always a crowd favourite with the little ones.

I love the old school simplicity of this toy. I remember something similar from my childhood in the 80s. My 8 month old baby is totally into it too! You can see the little gears turning in his head...the best! The quality is really fantastic, I researched toys for hours and landed on this one because of the great user feedback...it is true! If you’ve been comparing options, this one is really great!

Great fun my kids love it! As in they both fight over it. I wish it had a suction cup on the bottom in order to keep it down. My girls end up just picking it up and thrashing it around. But if you sit with them and hold it they play nicely with it. Have had it since they were 6 mos they are almost a year old now.

10 month old loves it! Better quality than ones in the stores and has 5 different buttons instead of only 4
