I would say ages 10 and up as there are a lot of small parts. My husband and I were ages 61 and 56 respectively and we LOVED putting it together!

Q: What tools to you need to build this kit--stuff not in the kit? Glue type, etc.?

No glue required. it's all held together with screws. assembles close to how a real engine goes together. Comes with everything you need to put it together. I would only recommend an exacto knife and maybe a nail file for trimming plastic down.
