Life Saver!
Zyrtec is a great allergy medicine, and a life saver for me. I have tried most of the prescription, and over the counter, allergy medicines over the years, and this one seems to work the best for me. I have had severe pollen and mold (among other things) allergies since I was a young kid. I have always had to take something year round for my allergies. Heck, I have been using allergy medication since Actifed was prescription only. I have tried Allegra, and it dried me out. It also made my nose bleed. I tried Claritin, and it worked for many years. Now, all of a sudden it has just stopped working. I guess my body built up a tolerance for Claritin over the years. My doctor gave me some samples of Clarinex to try, and it did nothing for me either. I talked to a pharmacist, and he said all Clarinex is, is a purified form of Claritin. They are pretty much the same medication. It was a good thing I found out ahead of time, as my insurance will not cover Clarinex, since Claritin is already available over the counter. So we move on....Doctor says try Zyrtec. Wow, What a difference! This stuff just works, and works well, for me anayway. Everyone's body reacts differently to different medications. So what works fo me may not work for everyone else. You will just have to try it and see for yourself. I am happy to say that I can breathe again. I also have no more scratchy throat or watery eyes on a daily basis. If things really get out of hand, I also have Nasonex to use in addition to Zyrtec, and it really helps. I don't like to take the Nasonex all the time though since it is a Steroid, and can cause some crazy things to go on in your body with prolonged use. The only side effect that I saw with Zyrtec was that it made me a little drowsy the first few times I took it. My doctor said that is normal with some people even though it is suppose to be a "non-drowsy" allergy medication. My body seems to have adjusted though, because now I do not notice the drowsy effect at all. I take my allergy medication at night anyway (as everyone should), so that is really not a issue. I am just glad Amazon carries Zyrtec, and its generic forms, so cheap. It is almost $1 a pill to buy it in the store. It would be cheaper for me to purchase Zyrtec if it were still prescription only, at that rate. Now that I have found a good allergy medication, and a place to purchase it cheaply, it has made a world of difference. I would recommend Zyrtec for anyone to try, but just remember, the same medication is not going to work for everyone, or cause the same side effects in everyone. I just know I am going to have a great summer, now that I can breathe again!

Eliminates "ITCH" from mosquito bites!
Someone told me to take an antihistamine for bad mosquito bites. I ignored the advise and tried different "ointments" to apply to the bites. Until I couldn't stand it any more....the ointments only lasting 30 minutes or so. I ordered and took 1 of these and could NOT believe it. Slept right through the night! The next day, in the evening, when they started to itch again, I'd almost forgotten I HAD mosquito bites. Another pill did the trick for another 24 hours. I will NOT be without this in the summer months in the future.

Truly wonderful!
I was so excited when this stuff went over-the-counter (OTC) since it became incredibly cheap and still works wonderfully. These 45-count bottles on Amazon are the best value that I could find. Zyrtec is the best OTC allergy relief medicine that I've been able to find. I tried Claritin and Alavert (which both use loratadine) and found that they both did nothing to relieve my allergy symptoms. My nose would be stuffed up and I'd have headaches throughout the day. For me, it was as if I had taken nothing and received a lighter wallet. Other people swear by Claritin and/or Alavert so it appears to be a highly personal situation. Zyrtec makes me feel normal again. While Zyrtec is not advertised as non-drowsy and some people have reported becoming drowsy after taking it. I can say that this does not happen for me at all. I take one when I wake up in the morning and have never felt even slightly drowsy from taking Zyrtec. Again, this is also going to vary person-to-person.

Moderate allergy relief
I take Zyrtec daily for an immune/allergy issue. Seems to help to some degree. I only take half a tablet. Good product.

Zyrtec works
Zyrtec works well for me. Its effect lasts 24 hours, often longer. Happily, it recently became available over the counter. An interesting sidelight on the effectiveness of our health system: now that my insurance company no longer covers half of the cost, I actually pay less per tablet: I no longer must see my GP to get the prescription, and the cost per tablet is less, too. The moral of the story: health insurance companies should cover catastrophic costs only. They can then get rid of the army of bean counters they need to process small claims. Flexible spending accounts can bridge the gap. But, alas, that is too simple and cost-effective to interest most politicians.
