Great, but read the other reviews
So far I have only used this to get two new kayaks a couple of hours home from the store, but already I can see that it will be a breeze to use.The rack is easy to install and easy to adjust to fit your kayak(s) the first time you use it.As noted by others, the post should NOT be mounted to the side as shown in the vide provided by Amazon, but in the middle, with one kayak on either side if you have two. If you do have two, you will need an extra pair of cam straps. The rack is easy to load and but might be tricky to secure if you are not tall. Plan ahead and get the straps in place before loading.Once loaded, the kayaks are held very solidly. I still will use bow and stern lines for additional safety, but they eem more of a fail-safe precaution than a necessity.

NOT suitable for round bar roof racks!!!
Very displeased with this product. Received it and began install night before leaving for vacation, needed it for the two kayaks were bringing. Half way down the first page it states, if you have round bar roof racks, you are SOL. You need their round bar adapter, NOT included, OH and Amazon doesn't carry it.Are you serious? You couldn't have made this abundantly clear on the description page, or anywhere in the information section? So now I'm traveling 400 miles tomorrow, without an adequate, reliable method of tying down two kayaks to my roof.Thank you INNO, for leaving me high and dry.

A good reliable system, and a fair price
We have been very pleased with this set up. It is a of a pain to get everything on and installed, but once installed it works very well. We have been using this system for about a year and the inno bike racks for two. Both seem to be great options compared to some other alternatives.

Nope. Not a good rack.
Right off, let me say that this rack arrived on time and in good shape. It is exactly as described. No problems there. But that's as far as the good news goes with this rack, I'm afraid. My wife and I just spent two hours trying out our kayaks on this system and it's a no go all the way. Unless you're transporting very small and light whitewater kayaks, this is simply not the rack. I own four kayaks; two 10 footers (for day kayaking) and two 16 footers (for longer paddles). In both instances trying to load two kayaks on top is a killer--even with the lighter 10 footers. First you set up one boat vertically against the two uprights (which are mounted all the way to one side of your roof. This alone is a logistical problem, since the uprights are on the side you normally load a kayak from--so you have to load the first boat from the far side of the car with the cockpit opening facing away from you--very hard to do. Try lifting and maneuvering a kayak by its bottom. Then you must try to get the second boat up facing the first and you're immediately confronted with a couple of problems: 1) As I just mentioned, it's very hard lifting a kayak backwards with the opening facing away from you, meaning with this rack you'll definitely need two people to load even light boats; and 2) even if you get the second boat up there, someone has to be holding the first boat upright so it'll stack up against the second without falling back towards you--so, in fact, you need three people to properly and safely stack two boats on this rig. Then you have to adjust the bottom brackets so the boats sit snugly against each other. Impossible. I should add that in order for this system to work as a "universal" rack, each of the verticals has four black plastic pads underneath that are supposed to grab on to any crossbar without damaging it. Fine. The trouble is, these little square bits of plastic fall out easily. After our second attempt, we lost one of these black pads and there are no replacements. So now the rack is useless. My wife and I are experience kayakers with many years doing this sort of thing. And in the process of trying out this system we scraped the paint off the side of my car and badly dinged my shin. Twice the boats came tumbling down as we tried to align them vertically. Sad to say, this is a very poorly designed kayak rack. I will be returning it immediately. (Instead, I intend to buy a second Malone rack and use it back-to-back with my other Malone. Much easier for one person to lift and secure boats that way--and much much safer.)

Close but not quite there.
This is a great rack at a fantastic price BUT not quite "UNIVERSAL". Buyer beware if you have round bars, you need an adapter NOT available from Amazon AND your bars must be less than 1.2" in diameter. Otherwise, this would be a 4 or 5 star item.

Great Value
We purchased this Kayak carrier along with theĀ Malone Auto Racks Universal Car Roof Rack to use on our 2010 Subaru Forrester to take our kayaks on vacation. The rack easily held our Old Town otter and our smaller Pelican Kayak. The instillation was quick and easy and we didn't have any problems traveling the 7 hour trip to South Carolina. We even passed through a heavy thunderstorm with strong winds and they did not budge. The kit comes with everything you need to haul two kayaks, including two sets of cradles and two nice tie down straps that are a cinch to use. I am very happy with our purchase and I find us kayaking more often at home as well because of the ease of hauling with this system!!

Excellent racks!
This rack setup works amazing. It came with different length bolts to accommodate different sized crossbars. I ordered these a while ago, but they were lost in shipping, and I had to barrow a set of the "j" style racks to haul my kayaks. They worked, but the whole trip I felt uneasy about how well they were secured. These racks fit amazing and hold the kayaks very well. I'm very impressed with these racks, especially for the price.

Very poorly made
Cheap and flimsy. Poor threading on the spin wheels. I was too slow to return it but now am stuck with an inferior product. Wouldn't buy it again.
