Our Black Dragon Pearl Tea is an outstanding bold brew with a naturally sweet and woody flavor. Each lovely pearl has been painstakingly hand rolled in southern Yunnan China, starting with Premium quality black tea. Health Benefits: Yunnan Black Dragon Pearl tea is loaded with antioxidants, which have been shown to lower the levels of "bad" cholesterol (LDL). Antioxidants are also thought to strengthen the immune system. A major contributing factor to the development of many terminal illnesses is thought to be excessive oxidative damage caused by free radicals. The polyphenols and catechins in black tea have been found to reverse the damage caused by free radicals, protecting the cells and DNA. Yunnan Black Dragon Pearl tea also contains an amino acid called L-theanine, which is able to enhance our sense of calmness without nullifying any of the energizing benefits provided by the caffeine in black tea. Steeping Instructions: Steeping 1-2 teaspoons of Black Dragon Pearls in near boiling water (around 90 Celsius) for any amount of time will result in a pleasantly sweet and earthy flavor. Use 4-5 teaspoons for large teapots. A strainer/infuser can be used with a mug, or the pearls can be placed directly into an empty mug, since the Pearls will naturally unfurl and fall to the bottom, making this tea convenient to drink without a strainer. There is no need to remove the leaves from the water at any point. This tea can be re-steeped with more hot water for 4+ flavorful cups.

Simply the best
My local tea shop closed a while back, and so I searched very specifically for this tea, hoping that it would be close to the flavor I'd come to expect. I was surprised by how robust and delicious this tea is, even nicer than what I had been drinking, and I have been ordering from this vendor steadily for maybe a couple years now. The quality has always been outstanding, and it is shipped quickly with a lovely note every time. I drink my tea plain, and refill with water several times throughout the day - subsequent brews are just as nice as the first. Highly recommended.

Wonderful, complex aroma and smooth, lingering taste: Woody chocolate and caramel notes
This tea has a wonderful aroma: a woody chocolate caramel smell with subtle smoke. NOT at all to be compared to Lapsang souchong. I was so delighted to pour this steep from my cast iron teapot. The smell imediately caught my nose. After saverering it’s wonderful aroma, what followed was an equally smooth and complex taste. It’s deep chocolate and caramel notes coats your mouth, lingering around the sides of your tongue while the smokey, woody taste hits the roof of your mouth. It’s an absolutely wonderful taste. At a second steeping, I add a single pearl to the existing leaves to keep with the aroma and taste. Do not pass up this gift to your palate.
