Yoga Journal

I love the Yoga Journal website, so I decided to buy the digital magazine too. I was horribly disappointed however, as the content in the magazine is EXACTLY the same as whats on the website! The only thing you get extra in the magazine are the adverts. I also found that the style of articles works better in a website format rather than print. I was looking forward to settling down to a meaty read, but it was more just snippets of info.Just a note to non-Americans (as i am) also - a lot of the content is very American specific, so it wont be relevant for you either. The cost of the magazine is very affordable, but I would still recommend just going on their amazing website. All the info you could ever need is at your fingertips on there.

too many ads

In kinda new to the whole Yoga and Meditation type thing, however my sister who is into it suggested it for my Manic Bipolar Depression. I have purchased two of these magazines in single issues, and have enjoyed the articles, suggestions, AND oddly enough the advertising pages as well.

Good magazine but they do recycle a lot of the articles from years past. And there are more pagesof advertisements than articles. That said, there is a wealth of information about the anatomy, postures,how to use yoga to center your body, mind and spirit. Well worth the price! The only reason I gave itjust four stars is because the first issue of my subscription took months to arrive.

I have enjoyed Yoga Journal for years, although each year it gets thinner on substance and larger on fluff and ads, and smaller in actual number of pages. What is there is enjoyable with an article or two each month that has great take-away. I extended my subscription through amazon, but " Active Interest Media Representatives" gave me a duplicate subscription with auto renewal. (who needs two copies of the same mag??) I have canceled thru amazon and will not be renewing after many unproductive messages to Active Interest Media Representatives.

I have subscribed to this great magazines since 29007, and I am always astounded by the great spiritual articles, the mantras, meditations, anatomy dissections, the beginners programs and the advanced practices. I am always learning and I have decided to scan some of my favorite articles as keepers to read again or pass onto people who may need some independent perspectives on life.As a little yogi, you know it is not all about feeding the physical strength, but the mind and spirit have to be engaged as well. As a kundalini yogi, I find the articles are just as applicable to my practice. One of the few magazines that really provide the depth that I am looking for even though the advertising can be a little annoying sometimes when I am trying to cut some of the articles for prosperity.

This is not a bad magazine, but the focus of it is on ads for products and services to purchase.There really is not enough quality articles on Yoga techniques or equipment or trends to balance out all the advertisement.I bought this magazine as a gift for my sister for 2 years on Auto Renew, she is a Yoga instructor and she told me to stop the subscription as she found it to have very little info of use to her.Really, what more need be said about this publication than that??

Yoga Journal is a wonderful magazine for anyone who has a Yoga practice or is even thinking about trying any of the various kinds of Yoga or meditation. They have articles that take you step-by-step through various poses (which helps keep those of us who are new to Yoga from having too many "ouches"), articles on nutrition, and on the spiritual side of Yoga. My problem was trying to order it. I ordered one subscription for my daughter, came back later that day to order one for me and it wouldn't work. I emailed Amazon for help, but nothing I tried worked. So, I suggest if you want more than one subscription, order them all at once!
