Robust 9" Comfort Rest with 1" Post

This rest is all that it purports to be. It is sturdily built and the hardened steel bar embedded on the work surface is truly nick proof. The shape gets the tool close to the work and is a comfortable reference surface. The nine inch size is perfect as it is between my 6 inch and 12 inch rests. So far it has not shown any defects under some heavy use conditions. I expect that it will last many years with daily heavy use on my heavy lathe.

Had read some positive reviews and can only add that this tool rest (bought the 9" and 12") is the best I've used. Smooth hardened steel rod let's the tool glide across the rest. Very happy with the performance.

Best tool rest i have. Does not mar easily and smooth fir finger to slide along with the tool.

Item arrived as described and on time... Note: I ordered this for my Jet 1442 lathe and the post was too long to fit down into the banjo far enough..had to take to metal fab shop and have them trim 1 inch off of post which wasn't a big deal and only took a couple minutes.

I wish I could afford a robust lathe, but the tool rest works very nice on my current lathe

Looks good quality, but I could not pick the length of post I wanted and it was to short for a 20" lathe so it cost $11.00 to return it for a exchange. Selection of other tool rests I ordered gave choice on post length. I was worried about not being able to chose a length, and it got me.

Tool rest fits perfectly on my Rikon lathe, and the comfort feature is a big improvement!

A great addition to my Jet lathe. Excellent product, made with real thought about turning in well.
