In the Himalayas, even base layers better mean business. If you're headed high into the mountains and can't find an actual Sherpa, this thick and curly knit crew is the next best companion.

Horrible quality, especially for prAna
Unfortunately, prAna is now one of those companies that used to make great products, but the quality has dropped so much that they're no longer anything special (and no longer worth the premium prices they charge).prAna has sold these "Sherpa Crew" sweaters/t-shirts for a long time. I bought a blue one in 2007, and it looks as great now as it did when I bought it, and has remained a favorite for the last 5 years. In 2009, I bought another one, in black. It was the exact same name & style, yet completely different. The first one was a much lighter, softer, 'wiry' type of material, which looked very unique and never wrinkled. The black one was much more similar to a traditional sweatshirt; very much had a cottony feel to it--which isn't a bad thing, but it's not what I expected, but I kept it anyway because I liked it.About a month ago, I saw this brown one on sale. I knew it wouldn't be as great as the one I bought 5 years ago, but assumed it would be at least as good as the one I bought 3 years ago. I was wrong. It's horrible. It sheds like crazy... When I first got it, I saw the fuzzballs literally dropping all over the place as I tried it on. After the first time I washed it, there were little brown fuzzballs all over the inside of the washer. After I dried it, I tried it on over the top of a white t-shirt, and when I took it off, the t-shirt was littered with brown fuzzballs. I washed the prAna Sherpa Crew again, and once again, it shed all over the washer, and when it came out of the dryer, it looked really bad - lots of pilling & fuzz. It's a cheaply-made sweatshirt, with a prAna logo on the front. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't pay more than five dollars for it. I wish I had returned it after seeing how cheap it was when I took it out of the packaging, but I thought a washing & drying was all it needed. In reality, the only thing it needed was to be taken out back & shot.

Great product
Bought this several years ago for my husband. Great quality. He still wears it.

Updated Classic
Reminiscent of classic pullovers of the 60'e,this is a handsome sweater for lighter weather. The fabric is somewhat prone to pilling though this does not detract from its appearance.

Prana does it again and again
I am a convert from all the other yoga related clothing and gear. The sweater is comfortable, wears well, washes well.

Comfy
Great to throw on when in the house or as casual sweatshirt for going out. I usual wear another shirt under it, so it functions like a lightweight sweatshirt for me.

Great quality, great fit.
Love this sweater...the oatmeal is a really nice color and it's a perfect thickness for layering over a t-shirt and soft enough to wear by itself.
