Simple to use, Affordable, Overall a great value

Although it seems a bit dinky, this device does what it does extremely well. Depending on your needs, this could be a much more cost effective solution than, say, a 100' HDMI cable (or something more complicated like HD-SDI) for sending good-quality HD video over longer distances than 'across the room'.The hardware Motion-JPG encoder is very quick (estimated observed end-to-end latency around only 20ms) and the image quality is actually very good. That said, it does use compression and you should not expect a perfect image on the receiving end as if you had run an HDMI cable... there are a few artifacts, especially during quick motion, so this might not be a great solution for avid home theater or gaming users. I'm using it to remotely view a computer screen, which works great. The only thing I regret is that the device has absolutely no configuration options, making it very simple to use but limited in what situations it can accommodate. Still, in all typical home-network situations it has effortlessly worked rock-solid. I had a minor concern about how much local network bandwidth this would eat up, but it turns out that it doesn't use much at all (only 0.3 - 6 Mib for 1080p), meaning that there is plenty to spare on most typical wired or wireless home networks. It should be noted, however, that despite the various text, this device actually employs UDP/IP (not TCP/IP) to send data over the network. The transmitter's IP is hard-coded to 192.168.168.55 and the receiver to 192.168.168.56, but it will co-exist perfectly on your typical home Ethernet network even if yours IP scheme is 192.168.1.x, etc. Note: The receiver actually searches for the transmitter on the network and initiates the flow of the video data. However, it's not designed to work through NAT, firewalls, or routed devices, making it very difficult to use in any complicated network situation, but it's really not marketed toward those types of deployment anyway. Overall, a great value.

Works... But requires some networking experience to work well.

The device works but I did have some issues.A direct connection between the devices works perfectly. However, when you run the devices through a network I noticed a lot of multicast/broadcast traffic. This traffic was overloading my network and caused overall network speeds to decrease drastically and my wireless network to work only sporadically/extremely slow.I was, however, able to fix this by configuring VLANs and "IGMP snooping" on my network switches (NETGEAR ProSAFE JGS516PE 16-Port Gigabit Rackmount PoE Plus Switch with 8 PoE Ports 85w (JGS516PE-100NAS) and NETGEAR ProSAFE GS105PE 5-Port PoE-Powered (PD) Gigabit Plus Switch with PoE Pass-Through (GS105PE-10000S)).1.) First log into your switch and setup the vlans:2.) Enable port based VLAN (In my netgear switches it is under "advanced" in the vlan tab).3.) Remove the port/s connected to the HDMI receiver/sender from vlan1.4.) Create a new VLAN (I used VLAN2) and add the port connected to the HDMI receiver/sender and the uplink port (or port connected to the other HDMI receiver/sender).5.) Enable IGMP snooping on VLAN1.6.) Do the same as above for the other switch on your network (if you have one).Thats fixed it for me. Now I have a super fast wired/wireless network again and HDMI to my TV over TCP/IP.

Buy this

I never write reviews but for this product I did. We have been looking for a product like this for awhile. Plug and play. Live display from over 2000ft away. Works like a charm...for now

Great Concept - Died in a week

Worked great but in about a week it completely quit working. This was the exact product I needed at a great price but it turned out too good to be true.
