I do not think it does, I bought this as a gift last xmas and it comes in a very small box. I am pretty sure it was just the case and the item, no instructions? I would imagine you could find instructions via the internet from sites that specialize in jewelry and jewelry cleaning. Hope this helps.

can is use this to tell the difference between chrome diopside and tsavorite?

No. Tsavorite will appear pinkish to red though. Tsavorite is the rarer more expensive of the two. You would need a gemologist to correctly ID the stones as a Chelsea filter is now used to rule out rather than confirm. I hope that helps as I am an enthusiast , not an expert.
