Slightly worse than American Gods, nevertheless another "instant Gaiman classic"
Anansi Boys is a spin-off from "American Gods", probably the best book Neil Gaiman ever wrote. That said, it is quite obvious that such a derived sequel will not ever be as good as the first book, yet Gaiman here delivers something altogether different and enjoyable. "Fat Charlie", the protagonist, is a man juggling with a quite mediocre life, a character anyone can actually relate to. When his father, Anansi, the spider-god, dies during a memorable karaoke night out, he meets with his long-enstranged brother, Spider, a demi-god himself. And here is where the fun begins: as you would expect, Gaiman takes the old "switcharoo" formula a step higher and further than anyone else, crafting yet another memorable, fun story. You will be laughing out loud with his puns, but even shed a tear once in a while: yet another Gaiman classic, indeed.

Good read
I don’t know if this was a good read or not because it was a Christmas present. Sorry, I can’t be more helpful.

100% Gaiman
Great adventures in the world of Gods and their siblings. Pure Gaiman's style and imagination in action. If you've read American Gods, you should definitely go for this.
