top notch for the price
In the days of $3000 dollar scopes with complex reticles, giant objective bells, and big turrets with numbers all the way around them, this simple, but yet rugged design is a breath of fresh air. This is a basic, simple, second focal plane crosshair reticle scope with capped turrets. Despite its simplicity, is quality glass and gives a clear sharp picture. It has held zero well on my 308 bolt action, despite being dragged through the deer woods and banged against limbs brush. This is an excellent scope, especially for the price. This scope is made in USA by a reputable company and has a lifetime warranty. If there was anything that I could criticize, it would be the turret adjustments are a bit mushy feeling rather than a solid, audible, "click".I still 100% recommend this scope.

High quality rifle scope.
Perfect scope for my Ruger American .22 Magnum. I had to remove the rear sight to get it to fit down onto my Burris rings.

Excellent Quality
First off, the finish is nice, even, smooth, and everything you would expect from a Leupold. The power adjustment ring is firm and precise, no need to be concerned about it breaking. The eye relief of the eye box is fairly forgiving, though a tad small at 7x.The turrets are covered with removable caps and are marked in 1/4 MOA increments, with every 3 MOA clearly marked, and 12 MOA per revolution. The turrets are finger adjustable; though the clicks are a bit mushy, they get the job done. There is a small split ring under the turrets; this can be rotated to align with the 0 mark on the turret once the scope is sighted in to allow for the addition of, say 10 MOA, and can then be returned to zero again.Reticule tracks well and passed the box test.Going by the old rule of thumb (1x per hundred yards/ 5x for 500 etc.) this scope, for someone with good eyesight, should be adequate on larger targets out to about 700 yards, perhaps further. The reticule can also be used for rough range estimation of targets of known size. At one-hundred yards on 4x, the sub-tension, or the center of the crosshair to the bold portion of the crosshair, is 16". At 7x, the sub-tension is 11".For example, a 6' human silhouette would span the distance of the center of the cross-hair to the bold (subtend) on 4x at roughly 450 yards. (6' x 12" = 72". 72"/16" = 4.5 4.5 x 100 yards = 450 yards. The same silhouette on 7x would subtend the crosshairs at roughly 650 yards. (6' x 12" = 72". 72"/11" = 6.545 x 100 yards = 655 yards. For example, a .223 60 grain V-MAX fired from an 18" barreled AR-15 with a MV of 2,850 FPS and height over bore of 2.6" and is zeroed at 260 yards for a MPBR of 300 yards with an 8" target; will drop 7.4 MOA at 450 yards, and 20 MOA at 655 yards. Simply move the turret in the correct direction, RAISING THE STRIKE OF THE BULLET, the desired amount of MOA and the zero will be very close.Altogether, I really like this scope and I find the quality hard to beat. Easily withstood a couple of hundred rounds from a .30-06 Winchester model 70, and is now on an AR-15 as a coyote rifle. For the money, this scope can not be beat, even by some more expensive scopes. I would recommend shopping around though, they can be found for anywhere from $225 - $275.

Beats the heck out of comparable price scopes
The glass is bright and clear. You can feel the quality. I have no idea why someone would pay this same price for made in China when you can buy Leupold that is made here and just flat performs better. Unrelated, but I also like the size of this scope… works perfect on something compact like a Ruger American Ranch.

Nice optic
Same old optical quality from Leupold (I have a few of them of varying ages). This one goes on a 22WMR bolt action rifle. Only thing: these new Leupolds don’t seem to have the same durable finish as the old ones.
