A wide ranging look at how AI could be used to benefit humankind
AI can be an emotive term but when discussed in the wider context of intelligent automation, it can be seen as a technology that could be of great benefit to humankind - it doesn't have to be doom and gloom. Bornet and co. present an accessible and insightful read to the future possibilities and challenges that will inevitably have to be faced.

Taking the robot out of the people, making our world more human
The authors embark on an exploration of AI and automation's applicability in business and society at large. They dissect how both established and emerging technologies catalyze productivity, efficiency, and innovation. A central theme is the ethical and responsible use of AI to supplement, not substitute, human capabilities. The book is replete with valuable insights, shared in a straightforward and engaging guide with ample use cases. It spotlights current possibilities in white-collar automation, promoting human focus on high-value, non-repetitive tasks. The accelerating symbiosis of AI and Intelligent Automation propels this discipline forward. The robust research and meticulous review underlying the content are evident throughout. The narrative is fortified with statistical data, benchmarks, and compelling examples of Intelligent Automation applications and opportunities. One critique, however, is the scarcity of frameworks and best practices.Regrettably, as with many U.S. (and self) published books, the layout, image quality, and typography fall short of expectation.Notable highlights and insightful quotes include:- As a warning: we need to prevent the negative impact of IA at scale on our societies. It is not a matter of “if” it will happen; it is a question of “when”- IA ushers in a new revolution: that of office work, automating “white-collar” work. Today, office work accounts for more than 80% of the job roles in our global economy, such as lawyers, financial controllers, or call center operators- Many Wall Street traders are concerned about being replaced by machines in the future, but at one Goldman Sachs unit it’s already happened. “Equity trading: 15-20 years ago we had 500 people making markets in stocks. Today we have three,” Goldman Sachs President David Solomon- Data management presents many challenges that can impact IA transformation. The most common are due to the difficulty of creating value from an overwhelming volume of unstructured data, the lack of consistency in structured data, data quality issues, and challenges created by data silos. Like the sailor stranded in a lifeboat after his ship sank, there’s water everywhere, but not a drop to drink- One way that companies can fail in their automation initiatives is by spending too much time on vendor selection. Companies spending 3 to 6 months instead of no more than 1-2 weeks- 5 critical imperatives to ensure the success of our societies’ journey with IA: (1) evolving skills, (2) sharing the wealth, (3) rethinking work, (4) reinventing education, and finally (5) building a potential new society

Technology at its finest!
This book is by legendary tech executives like Pascal Bornet, Ralph Aboujaoude Diaz and a few other excellent contributors - and thus holds high credibility by people who speak out of experience developing and implementing technology solutions in intelligent automation.(Absolutely must-follow the authors mentioned on LinkedIn, if you're in robotics, tech or automation, Pascal for inspiration, and Ralph for a good laugh)In this book, the authors help establish industry guidelines and frameworks for implementing IA, which helps propel this field forward. Lots of valuable experience shared in the form of a great and simple guide with use cases showcasing what is already possible today in white-collar automation, and thus ensuring that humans only focus on high value non-repetitive work.
