Best if the bunch ...
Looked over the few books on PSE10 that are currently available, and PSE9 books for those authors whose v10 books are 'coming soon'. Quickly settled on this one by Phillip Andrews. First of all, Focal Press publishes a number of PSE and Photohshop books with the highest production standards. Full color throughout, good binding, comprehensive. I'm a long time Photoshop user but anticipate teaching a course using PSE. This one covers all the features in both quick over view and full explanation. For me the hardest part of PSE is finding where Adobe moved the features in the menu system. I was surprised by the number of features in PSE that are made incredibly easy compared to getting the same results in Photoshop CS5. The authors web site is also very helpful with tutorials and support for book-related downloads, although the v10 book files are not available yet; the v9 tutorials are still relevant. There are some issues; the index is weak. Finding items is often better using the Table of Contents. Some PSE9 features are described which are no longer in v10, eg Maps. PSE9 users will find this book very helpful if the v9 book not available. Overall, the coverage of Photoshop Elements 10 is vey well done.

Excellent Book; a MUST have if one is serious about learning Elements!
This is an excellent book that serves as both reference guide and step by step tutorial for Photoshop Elements 10 (and can also be used by folks using versions 7, 8 & 9. Lots of photos so you can see exactly what the menus look like and before/after photos to show you the direct impact a particular tool will effect the image. I greatly appreciated how the chapters are completely independent of one another (not progressive) so you can jump in at wherever your familiarity with the program and take it from there, as well as the quick and dirty "what's new and improved in Version 10. There is also an excellent segment on the importance of properly calibrating your monitor (something important that many overlook) and one of the most informative and straight forward explanations as to why shooting RAW is preferred. Whether you're new to Elements or a seasoned user, this book will be greatly beneficial! What are you waiting for...buy it today!

This is my third edition of these books and I have got something out of them all.
I am an intermediate user of photoshop elements. This book is geared a little more for the beginner and a great book if you are new or just not that familiar with the software. very well written and lots of illustrations that give a clear picture of what to do. I would like to see this author attempt a little more advanced book on elements. think that would be great. I still did learn a few tricks and even discovered a few things I didn't know about version 10. I have no regrets, I enjoyed the book even if much of it was review for me. if you are new to elements or haven't read anything in awile You will get alot out of this book

Good Book
I bought the book because it is used as the textbook in a class that I am taking. It would be a good book to use to learn on your own.

Great Book
If you want to learn how to work Elements 10, this is the "teacher". I have followed along with the lessons. They are all clearly stated and easy to read. I have learned more from this book than anything else I have bought to learn more about E10.

A Different Opinion
Aarrrgggghhh. Having purchased and tried to use Photoshop Elements for Dummies, I found it impossible to wade through and bought this book by Phillip Andrews. It's not any better. The organization is strange and there seems to be no relationship between the order in which subjects appear in the book and the order one would learn Elements. The Index is very abbreviated and not much use. Many of the illustrations are too dark and the printing too small to read. Names and phrases are not well defined when first used in the text. I've spent more on books than I did on the software, and to no avail. Try a book other than these two.

Easy to follow
This is a good book to pick up all the tips of Elements 10. Unless you are a professional doing lots of post processing, there's no reason to get the $600 version of Photoshop. Elements 10 does everything the average person needs. This book explains everything very simply.

Elementary but full of variety
This wasn't bought for me but as a gift, so I haven't used it myself. However the recipient is very pleased with it, and finds it very easy to understand. The book arrived in very good condition indeed. Although it was sold as used, there was almost no evidence of it's being other than a new book, which made it all the more welcome.Thank you very much for a great service!

An excellent book full with all the instructions on how to use Photoshop Elements 10.If you can understand Elements but require instructions on the art of editing then this publication will offer you great ways of finding solutions.I have purchased three books on the subject of editing because I don't believe that any one book is completely perfect, but this is one of the better ones.

Great book that cuts to the chase without the waffle ...
Great book that cuts to the chase without the waffle and waste found in other like minded books on Adobe Elements.. It does what I want in an easy to understand format. It is wonderful for this silver surfer, I can now work pictorial magic with a couple of mouse clicks.
