Exactly what I needed for my garage door
It took me over 15 years to realize that I need to replace the old garage door lock, which I don't even have a key to, if I want to be able to get to my car in case of a power cut.As soon as I acknowledged that, it was easy to find this product and order it. I also ordered another unit for my parents garage door. The installation is plain easy, so there's no real need in any documentation. One thing I should mention, is that at some garages the lock was set very high and a short wire is sufficient, while in other garages (as in mine) the lock was set very low and a double length wire is needed. So in my case, I had to replace the wire with the one taken from my old lock and it wasn't easy to replace, but it was doable.

Easy installation
I was locked out of my garage when my opener failed. I had to call a locksmith to open my door. For her to repair it, the cost would be close to $275.00. She showed me what to order and we installed it ourselves. She was a saint!

Good dimensions and security
It's a wafer lock, but has 6 pins. Most only have 5. This was a direct replacement for a 30 year old lock, as it had the same screw spacing. The cylinder was a tad wider, and made for a very snug fit.The extra pin makes for a slight bit of extra security. Also, the cylinder core is pretty snug. It takes some effort to rotate the core with the key, which will make it harder to pick than the others with loose cores that spin easily. There is a channel for the core to rotate in as well, which requires a bit of force to extract the lock once it is turned in the channel.

This lock has saved me numerous times during power outages.
Our garage is the way that we get into our house but there has been times where the power has been out when we got home and there was no way to get in besides the garage. Luckily I installed this product before hand so I was able to open the garage and get in the house.

Okay, But Poor Workmanship
It does the job, but keys were not polished and fitted lock with difficulty.Recommend a vendor with better quality control.
