Could I use this to test a drink to see if there is alcohol in it?

No. A hydrometer is used to compare the density of a brew before and after fermentation; the conversion of sugar to alcohol can then be calculated. It has no capacity to detect alcohol directly.

Junk!, Broken on 1st use. Seems gravel in bottom breaks the glass. I never got a first reading so I can't speak to accuracy. Just a case of China Crap! Avoid and don't waste your money!
