Four Reasons Black Edition Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner
Update 6/12/21: I previously wrote that the one thing that gave me pause about this product was the price value, but it looks like the price has come down a little and I think that makes a difference! Also, I was having trouble with my daughter's hair breaking off a lot at the ends because it was very fine and brittle, so I switched her from baby shampoo to this and wow, the condition of her hair improved dramatically. She woke up with beautiful, shiny curls starting with her first use and her hair is getting a lot more dense and strong. This is probably the best use of this product overall for me because my thick hair really does take up almost a half to whole bottle every single use, but for her one bottle lasts a really long time! Still recommended and now I can say I would recommend this for little ones too :)Original review 4/2/21: Okay, I'll admit it - I had my doubts. I read about co washing and I thought...yeah that sounds like my hair will just be staying nasty? But my hair is ravaged from being dreadlocked for 10 years and having those dreads removed, so I'll do just about anything to repair previous damage and prevent any more from happening. When I heard that co washing might be a way for me to prevent my hair from getting too stripped in between washings, I was on board.I don't need to wash my hair often, so this co wash actually went seamlessly into my routine. Now instead of washing my hair every one to two weeks or so and using shampoo, I just use this co wash and I only shampoo about once a month. The condition of my hair has improved considerably, and my hair really does feel better in between cleansings. I also notice it holds style, feels less weighed down, the blonde parts are much less brassy, and it has a good texture that has nice grab as well.Overall I'm really liking this co wash so far and I'll very likely be back for more - the one thing that gives me pause is that with the length of my hair and the amount of co wash I use, I cut through so much product so fast that it seems cost-prohibitive. Shampoo does at least give some stretch to my dollar, but ultimately if it's going to shred my hair, it just isn't worth it and I'm happy to reduce its usage to save my locks. I definitely do recommend this stuff, but if you're like me, you'll be working on training your hair to need as little washing as possible so you won't be using too much.

Cowash Complete!
Very nice co wash, it lathes well and has a light pleasant scent. It does not strip your hair at all but leaves it feeling clean and moisturized. Comes in a pump bottle for easy dispense.

It's ok, don't really get why you would use it though!
I was interested to try this Four Reasons Black Edition Co-Wash Cleansing Conditioner, the thought of a between shampoo product was new to me. I've seen dry shampoos of course, but never something like this. This cleansing conditioner smells nice, very clean and fresh and it rinses cleanly leaving my hair feeling soft. The pump dispenses a small amount, so you need about 10-15 pumps out of this bottle to get your scalp and hair covered. I have medium to long hair that reaches about 3 inches past my shoulder. It does not lather like shampoo, but it is not as thick as conditioner either. I guess my 3 stars comes from not really understanding why you would use this product. If I'm going to wet my head and rub in a product and rinse it out, I'm just going to shampoo my hair. For me, the only reason to skip washing my hair is to maintain my hair style, in which case I do not wet my head! I don't understand why I would go through the trouble of wetting my hair, rubbing this in, waiting a minute, rinsing and then having to restyle my hair when I'm not even shampooing! This Co-wash is said to be gentle, and it is. But shampoos today are also gentle, not harsh or stripping like they were years ago, so I don't really see the need for a product such as this. I use a shampoo that is a sulfate free, higher end formula that is safe for my color treated hair and leaves my hair super soft and manageable. Bottom line, if I'm wetting my head, I'm shampooing. Husband says it works
My husband doesn't like shampoo. He remembers a time (before me) that he used a cleansing conditioner. Ever since then, he has wanted to have a cleansing conditioner. We've tried like four different brands and he always says that it is too much like shampoo. This one he likes and says it works. It's not too expensive and my husband has decided to give up his shampoo and conditioner for this mixture. If you are one of those people who wants a wash between shampoos, then this should be your product. If you are like my husband and don't like shampoo, then this will also be your product. For the rest of us, it's probably not worth it. It's not replacing my shampoo and conditioner.
