Like I said it is a decent little squawk box. I do have some issues with the product. Firstly the Baofeng company has discontinued the manufacturing of this product, so getting any updates to software will be a pain in neck. Every link I followed failed, I found one that gave basic access to several options with the data cable that came with the unit but there was no firmware updates or driver updates. Secondly I've spent roughly 4 hours over the course of 2 days searching through Baofeng products and other brands that sell the same platform with a different branding hoping to find one that had the same firmware programming and operating drivers to install it. Thirdly if you don't know someone who already has the program andwho knows how to reprogram these units. Prepare yourself of a possibly long headache of searching g.

What is to say... Need an emergency radio? Backup? You cant beat the price of these. Measured power output and it was close to what was advertised, but that can vary radio to radio.

Had it for about four hours now and can’t stop listening to the police and fire stations it’s pretty fun haha for those who are having problems with the big battery not working. I have the solution. If you look at the small battery and the big battery together I found one small difference. The gold contacts on the top of the batteries ( not the bottom) are slightly different. The small batteries contacts are just the tiniest bit bigger than the big batteries contacts. So I pulled out the old pocket knife and trimmed the plastic back till the contacts looked the same and boom it works and fits nice and tight 10/10 would recommend

These radios are not what they have been in the past. My older one works flawlessly and puts out close to the 8w it claims. The new ones not so much and on certain frequencies that I use in the old radio, the new ones will not transmit but will receive. Maybe it’s just me. They are super cheap though and that makes the issue better. I would still buy again.

We love this radio and everything that was included in the package. I have many friends that have these as well and they were the ones who told me I should get one. This is a great product that works so well. We are very pleased with it. Thank you

I was concerned that the programming cable wouldn't work because it was so inexpensive, but I've programmed about15 radios and it works fine.
