This may seem like a stupid question, but when drilling, do you close the door and drill from the inside, drilling out? or it doesn't matter?

I drilled a 3/16" pilot hole from inside out, then took the correct size and drilled 1/2 way from inside 1/2 way from outside to avoid any splintering on either side.

Im confused, on description says to use 9/16 bit but on features it says 5/8. Which bit size should i use or does it not matter?

For all the obvious reasons, I wanted the smallest hole that would work. And I found it worked fine - albeit snugly - with a 1/2” hole slightly enlarged by running the drill bit in and out and around the hole. Also, a 1/2” drill bit is a lot more common, easier to find, than a 9/16”.

Does this actually have a 220 degree viewing angle? 180 degrees is the most you would ever need, so I feel like the manufacturer is lying.

I am a satisfied customer of this door viewer product. But the 220 degree viewing angle claim - and illustration - are indeed lies - or at least falsehoods. Their illustration plainly shows an angle that shows *less than* 135 degrees, even though it is labeled 220. I have found some odd pattern of Chinese products whose makers/sellers are baldly lying about certain geometric angle measurements in their products, I don’t know why they think they can get away with that. One could conceive of a greater-than-180-degree viewer, but it would have no point in a flat door, and this Togu is definitely not such a >180 viewer. My own estimate is that this Togu’s about a 165-degree viewer, almost the same as the 170-degrees given here by Bill R., and the only other real number given here for the actual viewing angle. And that’s a quite respectable number, no need for them to be falsely claiming 220 degrees.

This door-viewer is what you're looking for. It's well made, easy to install, and provides a perfectly clear wide-angle view.I researched a variety of door-viewers and initially had my mind set on the larger viewfinder type. However, none of the versions available on Amazon were the right color. Once I came across this product, I realized it was the next best option.As many of the other reviewers have stated, this product has excellent clarity. I didn't realize this was a unique characteristic until I read reviews of other similar products. This door viewer operates well and the cover moves smoothly.The only part about this product I don't care for is the etched name "Togu" on the user-facing side of the cover. It's an eye-sore but honestly I only felt that way when I initially installed it. I haven't noticed it since then and the pros of this product well out-weigh the cons.For the price, it's an incredible value. I doubt there is a better option on here at the same price-point. If so, I was unable to find it.Do yourself a favor. Stop looking around and just purchase this one. I received no discount nor incentive to purchase this or leave a review. It does give a wide view, but to me it's a little too blurry in the middle. Tried a different one after this that was clearer but had less view and decided to go back to this one. Sort of a toss-up.

As simple as it looks, this is not a very satisfying product. For installation you need a drill with a 9/16 bit. This is not a common size in home kits. I also find the field of vision being fairly limited.
