PowerCore 5000

So in the past I have had the chance to use the lipstick chargers that Anker has made. These days they are not the optimal choice seeing as they only output 1 amp of power. This new PowerCore 5000 has proven to be the new portable charger of choice for me. It charges at 2 amp which is what most standard wall chargers do. I have taken a few photos to show a few different things about this charger. It is compact and the outer casing is solid. It is not metal but it is a mat black tough exterior. The button on the side makes it easy to use compared to the older lipstick chargers. The great thing though is that I didn't even have to push it to make it start charging. Just plug in the phone and it started right up. Super easy to use and works as advertised. What more could you ask for?1st photo, the entire package. Everything that comes with the charger and the box it comes in. All very compact and nice.2nd photo is a photo of how much charge the charger had when it arrived. 2 out of three lights. I usually charge all new devices that I get right away just to start fresh. So I popped this onto a charger and it only took a couple hours. So I assume it was about %60 full.Now Photos 3 and 4 are the most important photos for me. I own a Galaxy Note5 and at the time I had %70 battery left on my phone. I plugged my phone into a standard 2 amp output wall charger to see what the time until fully charged said. As you can see in the photo it read 43 min until charged. So the ultimate test was to see if when plugged into the PowerCore 5000 the same reading showed. The final picture shows the phone plugged into the battery pack and the exact same reading. So this definitely charges just as good as a standard wall charger.I would suggest this product to anyone looking for a full phones worth of charge on the go and to do it at a decent speed. I love having quick charge on my phone but as of right now Anker does not make a quick charge 2.0 battery pack this small. I only use Anker products for charging my devices. I have a few lipstick chargers, now this charger, two PowerCore+ 10050 with quick charge 2.0, a couple of the wireless chargers, and a couple PowerPort chargers. They have never disappointed me and they are always trying to stay up to date with their equipment. This is a solid product and I will purchase another so I have a couple. Until they come out with a quick charge version that is. Then I will give these away to have those. But all in all a great charger for on the go. Easily fits in your pocket with your phone.

What I love about the Anker PowerCore 5000 Portable Charger, Ultra-Compact External Battery with Fast-Charging Technology, Power Bank for iPhone, iPad, Samsung Galaxy and more is its shape and size. I have had other external batteries of the same capacity but they were of the flat and bar-like shapes. The difficulty with the bar-like external batteries is in the inconvenience when storing them into your jeans' pocket or bag. The great thing about its size and shape is you can slip it into your pocket or in a small belt or body bag.I also own the Anker PowerCore mini Ultra-Compact Portable Phone Charger External Battery - 18-Month Warranty (Black) which I use for short commutes. I love the shape of the PowerCore mini but my main concern is the capacity especially during long commutes or trips or when I'm playing Pokemon GO to be exact. The Anker PowerCore 5000 Portable Charger, Ultra-Compact External Battery with Fast-Charging Technology, Power Bank for iPhone, iPad, Samsung Galaxy and more really comes in handy because it can provide enough juice for my power-hungry device to last me a day.The PowerCore 5000 is slightly heavier than the PowerCore mini but it is not entirely heavy. You could barely notice its weight when you slip it into your pants' pocket or on your belt/body bag. Its matte exterior gives a great grip and is not a fingerprint magnet.It is quite easy to use this external battery, you don't even need to read the instructions to start charging. It has a power/charging level indicator and includes a drawstring pouch for storing the PowerCore as well as a charging cable. A cable to charge the PowerCore 5000 is also included, but you have to use a different cable (Lightning) to be able to charge an iPhone. Might be a stretch but you can even store an extra 3 ft Lightning cable inside the pouch. I have also tried the PowerCore 5000 to charge my iPad Mini and a Plantronics Bluetooth headset. The PowerCore 5000 charged my iPhone and other compatible devices flawlessly.This comes in pretty handy at all times and I would be using this along with the PowerCore mini. Aside from its sleek matte look (aesthetically-pleasing), it has all the safety features for peace of mind. It is also quite affordable so you can even buy a spare.I would highly recommend this external battery for everyday use, heavy gaming, or for long commutes/flights. I've now been using it to power up my iPhone when I'm playing Pokemon GO. I usually get around 1.75 - 2.00 full charges on my iPhone 6s using this battery.
