Streamlight 75851 Stinger DS Tail Cap Switch, Black

Installation was simple, and it restored my flashlight's full functionality.

My wife's Streamlight didn't have the end button. Replaced it with this tail cap, now it does.

The Streamlight Stringer is a fine flashlight, or torch as they say across the pond. The original switch on the model I have is located up near the head assembly rather than on the rear, as with most other hand-held lights I'm used to. The beam on the Stinger is amazing and works well as a weapon light. However, the switch was in an awkward place. Also, accustomed to the rear switch, it was odd to have the switching up front. So, I took advantage of Streamlight's option for a few more bucks.The tail switch is well made, machined to the same finish as the Stinger, and fits like it came with it. It has the Streamlight logo on the rubber switch and a rubber O ring under the cap. Two switches adds redundancy and ease of operation. I would have preferred the switch was OEM'd at the rear in the first place, but now that I have this tail cap I understand why they didn't. With the stinger HD's rather hefty weight and length, holding it at the rear with one hand while triggering the cap with the thumb does put a tad bit of torque on the wrist - no big deal, mind you, but it can be felt.A good addition to a fabulous light.

This will turn from what I understand any Streamlight stinger into a dual switch. I attached this onto a regular Streamlight stinger HL and it turned it into a dual switch flashlight. 100% worth the 20 bucks. Would buy again.

Looks like this was used by someone before. There is a dent on the top near the button, and most of the paint is worn. I'm going to keep it but I will update you on any durability issues.

This tail cap is perfect is your button has been worn down through use and does not work or if you purchased the light without the tail cap button but wish you had one. It is a great value and a great accessory for your streamlight stinger.

For the money, I think this is highly recommended if you have the Stinger DS flashlight. Makes using the flashlight easier, and more ergonomic. Not necessary if you are comfortable using the front switch, but for me, the way I hold the flashlight, I find the tailcap switch more ergonomic.

Use it on my Stinger HP. Gives full function from either switch. Works Fantastic and gives you a backup if the main stitch should ever have an issue. Recommended.

As I was trained to use a thumbcap flashlite I was happy to see this device, and read a review that it would work with older Stinger models. It did not work for me and I tried it on multiple lights. Too bad. Had to return it.
