This POE HAT failed after 4 months of use - Would not buy again.

Loud... VERY LOUD!
The PoE works as expected, but the fan whines very loudly (too loudly to put up with) and, as someone else mentioned, the hat emits a terrible high-pitched screeching whining noise! Where from is anyone's guess, but it's present even when the fan is off. It's intermittent, but present about half the time the device is on. Not worth returning, so I chucked mine into my odds 'n' sods draw.These terrible noises make this hat absolutely useless... AVOID!

Poor quality
The fan has worn out after 2 months and no is so loud I can hear it in another room!Don’t just think you can unplug the fan, as then the whole thing overheats.

Great option for a pi 3.
Works perfectly with my pi 3. It does not work with a pi 4 so well, the power is not enough at least for my purposes. I still think it is a good option if you have light power use in mind. Another issue I had on the pi 4 was the fan noise. On the pi 3 I have not needed the fan and have it disconnected. If it is to live in a quiet environment then I would try a quieter fan or another POE board. As long as noise and power are not an issue this is an excellent board.
