Fantastic tea. And finally! Grown and packed in the USA.
I got the sampler to decide which of the three I like best before buying larger quantities. I have to say, amazing tea. I am going to be spoiled now. These teas taste delicate and have a smooth, subtle, and excellent flavor. There are even subtle notes of something citrus or otherwise pleasant that probably comes from being the "real deal". I can only describe it like growing your own tomatoes. Why do they taste so much better than store-bought? This tea is like the home grown tomatoes and the other teas are "store bought". That's the best I can describe the difference. I won't be able to go back to other teas now. Cost is higher, but not any more than the "high end name brands" out there. The best part: the leaves are clean. When I see a high-priced tea online, they have a million great reviews. People rave and rave about them. Inevitably, they contain "natural flavors", which is often artificial sweeteners (so no kidding they taste good). Or they claim to be organic, but the tea is grown in China or some other place like that. If you believe "organic" crops in China are free of any pesticides or other chemicals, then I have some ocean-front property to sell you in Tennessee. Keep in mind, the leaves are not washed before they are dried, cut up, and packaged. So whatever is on those leaves when they are picked goes directly into your body. From what I can tell, CatSpring is a trustworthy grower. I have no reason not to believe it when they say only rainwater and sunshine have touched their leaves.

Fantastic
I LOVE IT I wish it weren’t so expensive. I loved the medium and dark roasts. Light roast was good but I think yaupon really shines when toasted. Real talk I finished the box like three months ago and still think about it. Put a splash of milk in with the dark roast it’s so good. It’s of a very good quality - leaves only no stems. If you’ve never had yaupon- imo it doesn’t taste like Yerba mate which I’m not a fan of. It’s more toward black tea which I enjoy daily but I think a bit more complex than camelia sinensis. I prefer tea caffeine though.

Good, but not black tea
The tea is okay but more of a green tea. Steeped for quite awhile. Mild flavor.

Very interesting flavor
This was my first foray into the world of Yaupon. The flavor is not like other Holly teas such as Yerba Mate and Guayusa. I do not like those other ones very much. I did not expect much but I was very interested anyway. Upon trying out this product I was pleasantly surprised. The flavor is kind of phenolic but also woodsy and aromatic. The one that I tried is the Medium-roast. I will probably try the Dark-roast next but I will most likely buy the Medium-roast again unless the Dark-roast is very much better. I do not see much Medium-roast available online so this product might be a good place to start if you want a middle-ground between Light-roast and Dark-roast. Product recommended.

Very happy to have found Yaupon
I was curious to see what the people who lived here before colonization used for caffeine and it's really fortunate that it's actually the best kind of tea that I've ever had and since trying yaupon, i've stopped drinking coffee. It's completely changed my opinion on what tea can be and I'm really lucky to be living in a place that Yaupon grows naturally.Catspring is roasted perfectly and grown wild. It grows in Austin so if you're anywhere on the south or west coasts, you literally cannot get caffeinated products that are sourced closer. I find it a bit hypocritical that people complain about plastic straws at starbucks, but they ship their coffee beans from the other side of the world.I would suggest getting their sampler pack to start with. It was like 15 bucks for 3 different boxes so you can find what you like the most.

It actually tastes good....not what I was expecting.
I bought this because we have a yaupon holly in our front yard. When I found out tea is made from the leaves, I was curious. It is a little expensive, but I think worth the price for an unusual, nice tasting tea. I plan to share with my nature group.

Thoroughly enjoyed - Roasted Green Tea Flavor
Great flavor. Really comparable to a roasted green tea and I think would also go great with milk and sugar if that’s how you take your tea. It brews relatively weak so you need more tea than you might normally use. Overall loved it and it’s definitely cool that it comes from North America!

High Quality. Good Taste
The tea seemed to be of very good quality, almost all leaves (no twigs or random debris). It's nice having three roast levels to try out each kind before making a larger purchase of one variety. I found it has a natural maple like flavor that got stronger the darker the roast got. I personally enjoyed the medium roast the best.
