Let people choose their characters ahead of time. Includes costume and props suggestions. Characters are stereotypical and really exaggerated. One strange thing to note was that the moderator booklet included clues for this AND another game. We accidentally started the wrong game and were confused as to why none of our characters were mentioned đ¤.

I have now ordered and played three games from this company. This is the first one I ordered and played over a year ago and I just pulled it back out to play again with a different set of friends. All three of the games we played from this company were amazingly well thought out and easy to play. The characters and some of the lines to read are punny and the games are all fun and challenging. Some of our guests have just enjoyed the night of dinner and fun with friends and some take it pretty seriously trying to figure out who the murderer is. The beauty of these games is that you can have both types of guests and still have a successful night. I love to throw a themed party and can tend to get over the top extra with decor and details. What I loved about this particular game is how simple it was to create the right atmosphere without having to spend a ton of money or time preparing. Both times I played this game, I was able to plan it for an hour after I return home from work and still have everything ready to go. Of course any extras at all are optional, but a simple red and white checkered tablecloth is really all I purchased for this. We simply ordered pizzas and used paper plates and plastic cups and it all felt on theme for this game. The only âextraâ I did was typing up the list of questions from each round on paper ahead of time, printing it and attaching it to black cardstock. These sheets were then set in the center of the table. They look like restaurant menus and we find it helpful to just have one sheet of questions that gets passed around as we each take a turn questioning someone. Then we cross that person off the list and it makes it easier to keep track of who has and has not been questioned in each round. In this digital age, our invites are sent via text message or word of mouth so we do not use the invite cards, but we did use the opposite side of them as place cards as intended. This game in particular is the most family friendly of the three we have played. Much like some of the jokes in childrenâs movies, adults may find some âadult humorâ in some of the characters and lines, but with children in the crowd, nothing inappropriate is actually said in this game. It all depends on your crowd. While I technically have not tried playing any murder mystery games from other companies, I chose to order from this company because of the stellar reviews and the fact that the games are flexible if you have last minute cancellations, changes or additions. We did have to make last minute adjustments to one of the parties we hosted and it was completely easy and stress-free to do so. Because of this I wonât even consider ordering from another company. I can also say that for anyone wondering if the games are easy or difficult or even impossible to figure out, they are the perfect amount of really having to focus and think, but not at all impossible if you try. We have played four times and I was able to pinpoint every time except the last and the only reason for that is because I was the murderer this time around. The most difficult part of being the murderer after three successful solves was trying to come up with a reason to accuse one of the other characters to take suspicion off me and place it on someone else. Over the four game nights we have hosted with games from this company, we have had a total of 26 different people that have played, some more than once. Every single one of them has loved playing the game and wants to play again. So, if I have a complaint about this company itâs that their games are so fun that my guest list keeps on growing each time we play and i simply canât host everyone at once. đ

We are a group of women varying ages who were going away for the weekend and wanted to try a murder mystery dinner party. It was easy to follow and everyone had their character information in advance and everyone made an effort. Unfortunately one of our party had to drop out last minute however thankfully the game allowed for this and we were still able to play with just 5 of us. We decided to make it Italian restaurant themed having looked at other reviews and this worked out well with a three course meal. The game can be reused which makes it great value too. We all had a great night and lots of laughs with people trying to do an Italian accent! Give it a go you know you're dying to!!

This makes for a great New Yearâs Eve party. Accessible for all ages - we had age 10 to 80 included. This game did not provide additional characters unlike some of the other games made by this company. However, with a bit of ad-lib we made it work. Good fun.
