Note this is a 36v 500w motor. There apparently is not a 48v version. Regardless all questions were promptly addressed by emailing the seller. Good customer support. After emailing the seller I received the gift package which included a tool, light, and zip ties and after another email they sent the hydraulic brake sensors that ship separate from the motor. Looks fairly easy to install after viewing some u-tube videos.

I bought the 750 watt motor with the C-18 display. It works well! I recommend getting the programming cable to allow the adjustment of the firmware. The Bafang config tool PC program and firmware files are easy to find on the web. I found the included firmware settings to be unusable. An anti-torque plate is also a good idea, as shown in one of my photos. The included battery connectors are generic "power poles", but Xt-90 connectors are the preferred upgrade. I use a 52 volt battery without issue. The display has many settings that you can change, and one of them allows for a 52 volt battery. (The controller is rated at 25 amps. I set the current limit to 19 amps, 58.9 volts X 19 amps = 1,119 watts!) I did add heavy duty grease to the reduction gears before using. I needed extension cables for the speed sensor and the gear shift sensor, but they are available here on Amazon. I would give 5 stars, but the fact that one must reprogram the controller may be a deterrent to those who just want a plug and play bicycle motor. I don't mind that , myself, as it gives you the freedom to really customize the way the motor works. I like that the controller is smart enough to give error codes to tell you if a cable is unplugged or something is wrong with a sensor, ect. The motor and controller seem to be very well made, and the color display is a joy to use. However, the push buttons and the throttle feel cheap. For the money, this kit is hard to beat.

The throttle yellow 3 pin connector won't completely pop into place. The pins look good on the male end from the engine. It must be something in the female end coming from the thumb throttle. The one hole isn't round and has blackening. Had it all put together nicely too. I don't want to return the whole product for a $12 throttle but that was disappointing. The rest seams good. I'm just waiting on the battery. I don't want to run it without the throttle plug clicking together as I'm concerned that I could short something. Can the company make that right?
