SlofoodgroupGourmet Vanilla from Tahiti - Real Tahitian Vanilla Bean Pods - 6 Count - For Cooking, Baking, and Vanilla Extract

Extremely Disappointed.
The vanilla pods are overly saturated. They appear to have been steeped in some sort of liquid to make them appear plump and full. It’s almost as if they were already used to make vanilla extract. They’re a pale brown and soggy, not the firm dark brown they should be. Unlike most vanilla varieties, Tahitian beans are not “killed” or cured by steeping, so there should be no reason for them to be this wet. I can only imagine how fast they’ll mold. The beans are weak in taste, not floral, because of the waterlogged pods. The product image displayed to lure you to buy doesn’t even remotely reflect you’re going to receive. In appearance nor in weight. After weighing, I didn’t even receive a full quarter of a pound that I paid for. I’m extremely disappointed that I’ve wasted $135 for 22 beans that I’m not going to use. Pass on this product.

SlowFoodGroup has the best vanilla beans!! Don't make the mistake of buying from another!
Fantastic, Awesome, glossy, soft, aromatic, and perfect.I once made the mistake, due to time constraints to order from a different vendor, because they could get some to me in a rush.Nope, Nope, NOPE.SlowFoodGroup has the best beans, the best service, and the best staff! The beans were luscious, and I will NEVER make the mistake of ordering from another again.. I will just have to learn to plan better.I recommend these guys without a single reservation!

Pure Tahitian Beans
I have purchased 4 different types of vanilla beans to make my first batch (ever) of different vanillas. I was happy when I came across Tahitian vanilla beans grown in Tahiti rather than PNG. Upon making the different batches on Nov. 15th, of them all, the beans from Tahiti is very light in color compared to the others. It will be easily another month before being able to taste the differences for a true comparison. But the color of the beans and the packaging was great and I would buy from Slofoodgroup again. UPDATE (1-13-19) Have purchased two more of the Tahitian Vanilla Beans grown in Tahiti and added to the original bath. Ratio in general has been 2 oz vodka to 1 bean on all my other batches and the pure Tahitian is still a bit lighter so added the extra beans to up the flavor just a bit more given that this particular bean is light and flowery in taste..

Best vanilla around
I bought this, Saffron, and Vanilla from Slofoodgroup, I couldn't be more happy. As a Quality Assurance food scientist at a Brewery I am very critical of the products coming in contact with my barrel aged beers, these Vanilla products are by far the best aromatics that I've come across which is of the upmost importance.

👍🏻👍🏻
Reasonably priced. Nice to be able to order just one instead of enough for a small army. What influenced me in this purchase was the positive reviews from other customers. Came in a resealable plastic pouch with instructions on how to keep it fresh.

Best vanilla bean ever
Best vanilla bean ever!! I've never seen like that before. These are so soft, large and also full of flavor. Even if I used only half of that it's enough. Recently I use only quarter. I recommend these vanilla beans in South Korea baking website :)

Great Beans!
I am picky about my vanilla beans and go for the best that I can find. I ordered the Grade A Tahitian beans from French Polynesia and they arrived sealed nicely in a vacumn package. I find the Polynesian beans to be the best due to their curing process and are simply marvelous for making vanilla extract, ice cream, etc. I used some beans for extract a year ago and the aging of the extract beats anything one would find in a store. These are not cheap but I simply love them.

Great scent, great quality vanilla!
Amazing scent, it permeates through the plastic bag! Sent to some friends as a gift, they absolutely love it. I taught them how to make an extract, so a few beans can last them a whole year in terms of baking needs. This smells amazing, like an old-world ice cream shop I used to visit as a child. Top quality, no doubt. The size of the beans is two to three times bigger per bean than the Madagascar beans, so you're getting quantity and quality.

Lovely pods!
Nice juicy, fragrant pods. Used them to make home made ice cream. They cut open easily and were packed with lots of seeds which you can see flecked throughout the batch of ice cream. Would definitely again.

Not fit for purpose!
Wanted to make homemade vanilla extract. The scent is not strong enough for what I want.

Good quality
This product arrived quickly and intact. On opening, the beans give off a lovely smell.I have used the beans to make my own vanilla extract so at the moment I cannot comment on taste. Hopefully it will be at least as good as the smell! I will try to come back and update my review once I have tasted the final extract.

Its huge!!
Considering 2 small vanilla pods cost £6 this is far beyond the inexpensive money. Its massive and the smell is unbelievable not sure about taste as yet as haven't used it.
