Pelikan Opaque Watercolor Paint Set, 12 Colors Plus Chinese White Tube (720854)

This is incredible paint for the price! I am somewhat a beginner, but the cheap paints I have used cannot compare with this!!! To begin with, the case is durable plastic, although the lid looks different than the picture shows. The open lid is really covered in deep depressions which are wonderful for mixing paint. The white watercolor tube is genius! Partly for this reason...these Pelikan paints are so fully pigmented! They are super bold, bright and vivid! I actually had to water down a drop of paint, instead of trying hard to get color onto my brush! The white paint results in creamy light colors. I tried a project and found the texture of the paints to be extremely easy to mix and work with! They blend beautifully on the paper. They dry without any chalky residue, but a velvety smooth finish. I am super happy with these paints and can't believe these watercolors are so cheap, they seem so high quality!

These would be an adequate set for young children. The white tube of paint that comes with this is glossy & sticky, not like gouache I'm used to. These are somewhat chalky unless more water added, then they are like watercolors. Lifts when layers attempted. OK for young children. Not for adults.

This was the first set of gouache paints I ever owned when I was in elementary school, and even as someone studying art at a university, I still love these paints. They're pigmented and build-able, they last, and are easy to travel with or clean, unlike many paint tube sets. They are worth well over what they cost and I highly recommend them. I always buy these for kids who are exploring the arts and want to give painting a try. The only thing I'd say is that these aren't really "watercolors." They can be used as watercolors, however they're more buildable due to the chalkiness within them.

I bought this because I remembered that it was good for children in Germany, and it's good for all who want a watercolor that tends towards gouache.

These are amazing watercolors for the price! Granted, I'm not really familiar with the various watercolors available, but I remember watercolors from my childhood, and they were pretty atrocious. That's sort of what I was expecting, but these are really nice. The container is also sturdy and has recessions for you to mix colors in. There's also a tube of white watercolor to mix with darker colors. I bought these to use for a small project, and I was definitely surprised and pleased with their quality and price.

The awesome @punygoddess suggested me these over on Instagram when I told her I'm looking to get back into drawing and painting and she really inspired and motivated me to get these. Amazing quality for the money, the colours are really bright and really sharp. the little bottle of white acrylic could be bigger but you can't have anything. No faults. If anything I want more!
