I've seen heavier duty, but any thinker and it would be annoyingly heavy.
It's pretty thick metal. I'm pleased.

Great Job Site Box, but the 36" is small
I ordered this box for my job site to hold misc building supplies while we were constructing our home. We had some things walk off the site before the box. I like that the hings are internal and the locks (purchased separately) are located up in recesses, making it difficult for anyone to cut or force them open. The box is light, thin metal, and easy to carry around when empty. We're building near the Gulf and have to deal with the salt air constantly rusting things out and so far I haven't seen any yet, but we're also not abusing or scratching the paint up either. Nothing some rust-proof paint wouldn't fix when that time arises. The hydraulic cylinder holds the lid open well.We bought the 36" box and now wished we had gotten the larger one. I guess the pictures on-line are deceiving or they are only showing the larger of the two, we were hoping it would hold a lot more that it really does. We were expecting it to not only hold construction supplies but equipment also, and that is not the case.Overall, this is a really nice job site box. I would not call it "contractor" grade but it does the trick.

You get what you pay for
It arrived from FedEx with a couple small dings and dents. The top closes but it’s off-center. If there’s a next time I’ll go to the box store to purchase in person and inspect the product.

Def buy
Bought it, thought I was getting junk and was well surprised and how strong it is. We use it for chains and all, you will not be disappointed.

Budget minded job box
It’s not a $500 job box but it doesn’t cost $500.Very nice for the price. The legs were slightly damaged in shipping but I do not mind. It’s going to take a beating any way.Decent value for quality. Nothing wrong with saving some money.

Came damaged
Like the size and the color and the design however the shipping box was damaged and there were several small dents and dings on the outside. One of the litter arms that open and close the box the weld was snapped clean off. Don't likeHaving to repair something I just purchased.

Not bad!
The first one of these I got from Amazon had a big dent on the lid and a sloppy weld with a hole in it on one of the corners. Amazon picked it up the next day and shipped me another one which got here 2 days latter. The fit and finish of this one is nice! Use will be as a home security box. The ability to bolt this box down to the floor will make this even more secure. The hinges seem pretty sturdy, the hydraulic lid lifter is great, and there is plenty of room to get good size pad locks on. If you can get one that isn't dented and has good welds like mine I highly recommend it. If yours comes a little jacked up like my first one did give a try at a second replacement one and you may well be smiling like I am 🤓

Sturdy, Well-Made Storage Box Perfect For Ammo Storage
I bought this job site box to store ammo and gun parts in my basement. I don't like to leave ammo unsecured, and I had been using valuable space in my gun safe. The box is heavy gauge steel with fold down steel carry handles and two hasps for padlocks. This box has plenty of room and it is very solid.
