3M VHB Scotch SJ3550 Dual Lock 250 Reclosable Fastener: 1" x 10 ft., black

I use this stuff to hold Remote control exterior lighting on my car. This is much better than any kind of hook and loop fastener tape. The grip is doubled when you are using it to attach one rigid flat object to another rigid flat surface. Car washes will not dislodge rechargeable lighting from your vehicle. It won't stick to fabric the way hook and loop fasteners do, but it will definitely hold rechargeable remote control lighting onto the flat surfaces around your license plate. To be clear, the interlocking gripping mechanism is more like hardened mushroom caps interlocking with one another; much better than any kind of Velcro. This is the 250 per square inch grade and it works better with itself than any other combination of 400 or 160 per square inch. 400 per square inch is great if you want a low profile tape, but it will eventually wear out in a shorter period of time than any other combination of these tapes. 160 per square inch is more compatible with fluffy fabrics or hook and loop fluff. 250 sticking to 250 is the most durable long lasting tight grip I have found. Very easy to use. Very effective. Highly recommended. It is most likely to be successful with any application. Definitely the most versatile solution indoors or outdoors.

Best product made if you’re looking to put guitar pedals on a pedalboard. Period.

If you want something to stay put, this is what you need. I keep this stuff on hand, not because I use it all the time, but when I want something locked down (but removeable, with effort), this is my go-to. The uses are many... I use it mostly for automotive purposes, usually to mount small component type stuff. The last application was for a ScanGauge 3 in my Tundra, which I had fabbed a bracket for. The gauge did not come with a bracket or mounting, so I did my own. A small piece of this, and the ScanGauge is securely fastened onto my bracket and doesn't flop around or fall. If I want it off, then I'll earn it, I'm sure. Good stuff.

Very impressed with this stuff. It really “locks” in with a click. Shame it’s so expensive but it is great for my pedal board and because I mount my pedals on a high incline (it’s like a dumb modular synth setup) the adhesive being stronger than industrial strength Velcro was important. Over a few months’ time, the backing glue would come off of particularly heavy pedals like a Boss MD-200 or Strymon BigSky and I’d have to use new Velcro. That shouldn’t be happening with this stuff.

Used for PedalTrain Classic I board, mostly Boss pedals and a wah. Would like to see the low profile clear tape compared to this; the thickness profile isn’t too bad actually, but I could see thinner being a little better as the pedals wouldn’t be as high (we’re talking fractions of an inch, tiny). Was able to pick up the entire board by one single attached pedal but it’s not as strong as you’re thinking. The product’s reliability is much increased after cleaning surfaces with alcohol prior to applying adhesive strip, not pressing two strips together too hard (it can weaken the DualLock hooks), and being mindful of how much you need to use in order to achieve the degree of “locking” you’re after. Holds all my pedals and wah in place — very solid and firm. Used about 16’ of Dual Lock to cover the entire Classic I so I had to buy 2x rolls. Probably worth it because I won’t need to replace any Velcro ever again hopefully, plus this stuff is very strong. I’m glad I did my research and chose DualLock, no wonder everyone recommends it for pedal boards!

I used this to mount a surge protector under my standing desk and it has been rock solid. The hold is extremely strong and feels very secure, even with frequent desk height changes and a lot hanging upside down from the surge protector. This worked exactly as hoped and made it easy to keep everything clean, organized, and securely mounted.

When using these to attach things to the back of a thin lcd tv you are kind of stuck since you can’t really ever get the needed pressure to reattach things if you ever separate the locking mechanism without risking damage to the screen since it would require applying way too much force from the front screen and the glass will crack for sure.. The only way to use this is pre attach the locking pieces then expose the adhesive and stick it to the rear of the tv but don’t try to move it or separate the locking mechanism because you will never be able to hold the piece on the back of the tv. Maybe if you reomoved the entire back panel of the tv and held it in place from the other side before reattaching it.

Very strong adhesive. Use it wisely since you may go through your roll fast. It's a little expensive but the quality is high.

Good quality, heat resistant and worth the price. I use it to hold a plexiglass sheet against a window frame. I was previously using velcro tape and it kept unsticking when it was hot. This one has been holding for a few months without any issues.
