Good for designed purpose
Probably will work great for soldering. Not quite powerful enough for my fiber laser.

Perfect Small fume extractor
I didnt have a lot mof room on my bench but needed a fume extractor for soldering. This is them one! quiet, effective , well built, and small. Filters arent a crazy price either. Great job!. PS Im not crazy about the big heavy rubber/silicone funnel you can put on the end of the tube, it weighs down the arm and does not stay on well, but dont really need it anyway.

Low air suction, received a used device
When I first opened up the box I noticed a horrific smell coming from inside. As I was pulling out the parts, I took the hood part out and thought that's what had a strong smell of new plastic as is typical, but it didn't really smell like new vinyl.Puzzled, I continued pulling everything out of the box. When I pulled out the main unit that has the fan and filters, I opened up the top lid and to my dismay I discovered a used filter that was presumably previously there from someone using it.If you look at the picture it is stained beyond suspicion. This thing was used by someone that most likely smoke cigarettes and used it to extract cigarette smoke. The strong horrific odor was definitely coming from the used filter. That smell of impregnated cigarette smoke is easily recognizable. I decided to affix the hose into place and at least test the unit to see if it was even worth keeping, when i turned it on the smell immediately started to fill the room making me and others incredibly uncomfortable. Before I shut it off I turned the knob all the way to 100 to at least see how strong the suction was. I was extremely disappointed, I could barely feel a vacuum when I pressed the palm of my hand up against the hood. This was a horrible experience unboxing it. Maybe if the smell wasn't there I would've considered keeping it but what Sealed the deal for me was testing it and realizing it has a very weak suction power. When you are soldering you really need a lot of suction to remove the smoke from your work area especiallyas it hits your face. I don't think this device has the power to do so. Don't buy this unit.

Customer Service is Great.
The power supply failed (crib death) within about 48 hours of powered on time (actual in use time). I contacted the seller and they were responsive and very nice. They quickly shipped me a replacement power supply which was very well packaged. They also kept me informed the whole time.As for the Fume extractor, It is more than a little under powered I assume due to all the filters in it. I find when I place the hose next to microscope it does a decent job of keep the fumes away from my face. The Fume extractor is so well built Though, I am thinking of making it the second stage of a larger fume extractor, using it for the filters.

Sometimes you get what you pay for
This product is a waste of money. It has a weak vacuum and does not remove the smoke very efficiently. Mine arrived with a loose barrel jack for the power plug that just spun around and the unit quit working shortly after I discovered that it was defective. I would not buy this product again.

You Need This
If you do quite a bit of soldering, this smoke/ fume extractor is the best I’ve ever used. Variable speed, nice, articulated hose to set it the way you want and it removes ALL the smoke! Very nice quality as well. Solidly built to last years. Buy with confidence!

Great little filter
Works well for my soldering station. The only change I would make is to have a bracket that supports the tube as sometimes it starts drooping as I work.

good product for the intended purpose
This Soldering Fume extractor is all metal except for the extension tube. This one uses 3 filters all others use only 1 carbon filter. This has a nice LED fan speed readout. It is a little expensive compared to others in this category. But I feel it is much better built making up for the cost. No, A "Fume Extractor" in General will only extract fumes where the nozzle is pointed. This is not a "FAN". Keep that in mind. If you are OK with that then I feel this really sucks the Fume. I have researched many many units on Youtube and checked all the review of other Fume Extractors on Amazon. and having the all metal case and 3 filters makes this a decent product. the only thing is the plastic accordion tube is hard to keep in place.
