Richard Scarry's Cars and Trucks and Things That Go Hardcover – Picture Book, June 1, 1998

I'm an older millennial and I bought this for my daughter because I recognized it and remembered it being one of my favorites when I was young. I was worried that it wouldn't hold up since it's so dated, but that was unfounded. Since the day we got it, it's been a round 1 bedtime bedtime selection every night. The story is easy to follow and engaging enough to not get too too boring to read. There are so many characters and vehicles on every page that there's almost always something new that has been missed in past readthroughs. Also, the running theme of finding goldbug keeps a toddler engaged and feeling rewarded every page.

This Richard Scarry Cars and Trucks and Things That Go book is delightful. We are giving this to our three year old grandson for his birthday in a couple of weeks, and he will love it.Like all little people, he loves to read books with his family. This hard cover book is special as it allows you to ask them about the names of all the bright colors, and name the vehicles, what sounds they make, and where they might Go. You can discuss in little people terms…where each vehicle would be seen, and what each does. Even if it is a silly vehicle.Richard Scarry was one of my daughter’s favorite storybooks over 30 years ago, and it is so special that my 3 year old grandson will be reading these books, too.Love the quality of the book, the colors, the pictures, and the stories. Very happy with this book, and highly recommend.

As a gift for a three year old... great!

If you have not read this book to your young children, you will enjoy this book. It is a classic. Finding Goldbug captivated my two kids 35 yrs ago and I purchased the book again for my two young grandkids. Our granddaughter has LOVED finding Goldbug on each page and getting to know Officer Flossy, Dingo Dog, Mistress Mouse, the Pig Family, Homer and so many more. So much to look for and enjoy on each page. In a few more months our grandson will be old enough to start enjoying this classic.

Richard Scarry’s books are so classic. His illustrations are timeless and endearing. Follow along with the Pig family on a road trip to remember. Featuring a delightful silly array of cars, trucks, and things that go, this book can be enjoyed in a variety of ways.In addition to the Pig Family, you’ll meet Dingo Dog on a mad dash from the law and look for the friendly Gold Bug hiding on every page.There are vehicles of all kinds in the city and the country, on land and by sea. Little ones will delight in everything there is to explore.

Quite an interesting story. The emphasis on the various types of vehicles, (alot of them fictional), is what makes this story worthwhile. It introduced my son to several new concepts example; amphibious vehicles. Its alot of fun perfect for little people.

Love this book. So great for toddlers

As a kid I spent many hours studying these books. I got them for my own kids and they aren't quite as into them as I am, but they like them. They're silly and funny and have many details to the pictures. There is a lot to read in these books. They're a great value for the price because these turn into multiple bedtime stories and are fun to read time and time again.
