I've bought strike indicators for fly fishing before and if that's what you need for then these are far too large. What I bought them for, is to replace a spherical version of a similar size and buoyancy used as as a float for live-baited minnows. For this use they are ideal as they resist being pulled under by the minnow while still allowing plenty of movement and not alarming a trout, perch or chub that might take the minnow (that's not just theory!). In effect, I use them as a pike-type bung for smaller and less aggressive predators. I'd prefer them in luminescent red (as the spherical equivalents could be bought when they were available), although the yellow is mostly good enough.
