Hoppe's BoreSnake Rifle Soft-Sided Rifle Cleaning Kit (Choose Your Caliber)

This kit's a bargain if you like BoreSnake's. The snake alone was nearly the same cost at a local chain sports store.The quantity of bore cleaner & gun oil is perfectly sized for this kit. Any more and it would be too bulky. The pouch is sized right and does work but doesn't feel sturdy like the round BoreSnake containers I have but for the price it should hold up ok.One thing worth mentioning is the plastic piece that separates the oil & bore cleaner containers also serves as a makeshift handle to wrap the cord around for added leverage to pull the snake if needed. So there's no need to cut a piece of dowel rod for the wife when she can't pull the snake through:)

This is the second Hoppes boresnake kit that I've purchased in .30 cal rifle. I liked my first kit so much that I bought another one for my dad. The boresnake really performs as advertised. It cleans very well after two passes. I usually put 3-4 passes through my rifle using the boresnake as it's really quite easy to use.I felt that the added accessories in the kit were worth the extra money over the boresnake alone. You can never have too much Hoppes solvent or gun oil. I haven't used the gun wipes yet as my silicon cloth has been working fine. The case is definitely handy for storage and transport, and if you can remember which is which, can easily fit two boresnakes with room to spare. Once you've used up the oil and solvent that comes with the kit, the bindings can be used to hold replacements.Unlike the other reviewer who gave the kit a bad rating due to the solvent discoloring the bluing of his rifle, I have had no issues. This may be the fact that I've always sprayed the solvent onto a cotton patch before application onto my guns; because if I had a regular jar of Hoppes solvent I wouldn't be pouring it directly onto my rifle. The aerosol also allows finer application of solvent to patch, as I don't have to dip and soak a whole patch. No complaints with the gun oil either, works as advertised.Overall I would say that the Hoppes boresnake kit is a great value for the price. It's a great kit for casual cleaning; basically, I would use it for maintenance cleaning to keep the gun in good shape but wouldn't use it for rifles that require an in depth clean.

I bought my first gun, so I of course bought a rifle cleaning kit. I got one with the old-fashioned rod. It broke after a week. It was extremely difficult to clean my rifle with it. When searching for a new rod, I came across this and thought I'd try it out. After my first use I fell in love. I cleaned my rifle in 1/3 of the time with ease. Not only is it easier, but my rifle gets a much better clean now. Spend the extra money and buy this. You'll end up buying it after your rod breaks anyway

I just got my kit and tried running it through my new Mossberg T715 .22. The first brush got stuck!!! I had a heck of a time pulling it back out! I couldn't pull it through the correct way either as it was stuck so bad.I called the company as I know I can't return this due to the 'hazardous materials'. She didn't think anything was amiss. So that was a wasted call. But will this loosen up? This rifle is new, it really doesn't need a cleaning right now, but I was just 'testing' out this snake. When it got truly stuck I panicked a little. I didn't put any oil on it as like I said, this was a test run on the snake. If oil is added does it soften the brushes a bit?thanks so much in advance for any tips. I just needed a SOFT rifle bore!!!

This is by far, the best available gun and rifle cleaning kit out there! I've been using these for quite awhile now... and have purchased other caliber sizes of the Hoppe's BoreSnake for all my guns... the make cleaning your weapon a breeze! No more connecting cleaning rods for all your guns... just follow the simple instructions... a couple of passes through the barrel... and you're done! The snake is also machine washable too!

Perfect kit to take with you to the range. Just toss in your other bore snakes and go. Plenty of room for more snakes and cloths. It only has 1 included pre packed gun cloth so you will be adding that anyway.I absolutely would buy again.

Bore Snakes make cleaning barrels so much quicker.I even purchased one for my 357 magnum i loved this so much. After a few rifle cleanings i soak the snake in some warm water and Woolite and that does a decent job at cleaning the snake up.People say it doesn't replace a rod and patch system,I disagree as long as you keep your BoreSnake clean.This is a system that i think any rifle or handgun owner should add to there cleaning tool box.

I can't believe I would actually clean my rifles with tiny bits of cloth and spend over 1-2 hours cleaning my rifles. This product from the get go just impressed me, and how clean it was leaving my barrels was just incredible, especially after just 2 passes through the rifle. This is the tool to get if you shoot a lot and don't like to go through and spend over and hour cleaning a rifle to get it extra clean. The .22 Bore snake also works great with my 2 .223 / .556 rifles due to the close bore size. I recommend this kit to anyone!
