Would it be possible to replace the glass on the non-tilt surfaces with something else?

The glass on the tilt portion has two metal disks on the upper corners which you use a machine screw through a bracket. On the bottom two corners there are suction cups placed on the lower bar against the glass. The glass provided is not a standard thickness found in glass shops. One of my pieces arrived shattered and I was not getting a response from the manufacturer so I checked with a glass shop to see about a replacement. I must give kudos to the manufacturer because even though I did not get a call back right away due to the person being on vacation they did send me replacements for both desktops so now I have a spare. And the gentleman did call me to apologize for not returning my call right away.

What are SPECIFIC recommendations you can provide about what chair you use/recommend for this table? I need specifics. Please help! Any and all!

The height is adjustable and it definitely goes high enough. One thing to keep in mind about this desk that I did not know until I started drafting on it; you can't move your T square past the bars that hold up the back cork board piece. Also, it is difficult to move the square past the black holders on the side, even if there are no items inside. If you plan on making smaller drawings, this should work fine, however, if you plan on drafting large areas, it will be inconvenient to deal with the obstacles.

Is the slide out thing right below the table usable for a mouse/keyboard?

It's not that big and has a lip so it may be uncomfortable on the wrist in the case of a mouse. But it may work with a smallish keyboard...

If I take out the middle piece is the desk still supported to piece the two long sections together along a straight wall?

Each straight section will stand on it's own, however I don't think they can be connected to one another without the corner piece. You could have two individual straight sections along a wall (aka it is possible to remove the triangle piece) but the two straight sections may not be as sturdy standing alone as they would be with the middle piece connecting the two together.
