Do it now.
Can’t believe I thought about this relatively simple install for two years before finally doing it. The YouTube videos identified the firewall bolt as 13mm, but after searching in vain for a 13mm wrench, I decided to try a 1/2” deep socket and it fit just fine. Had to use my breaker handle to loosen it from the factory high torque installation after trying unsuccessfully to loosen it with a standard size wrench, and the lug is long and finely threaded so it takes a while to spin it off even with a ratcheting socket or wrench, given the tight working quarters. If you can get your cordless impact driver in there it will save some aggravation and time. Once the dead pedal is on the lug and tightened down, you’re done if you picked the right holes on the bottom assembly and it’s comfortable for you. I was lucky and the second holes down worked just fine for me. My left foot is happy at last. Always great to find a solid and well built product. Good on you JeCar!

Money can't buy happiness but it can buy comfort
Got this right before a 5 hour road trip - definitely helped keep the legs comfortable. Easy to install but you will definitely feel cramped trying to reach up under the pedal area

Good Dead Foot Petal
I would have given it 5 star, but no instructions where included and I assembled it wrong. Had to remove, reassemble and reinstall. I would recommend studying the pictures carefully, and get a deep well 13 mm socket, 2 8-10" socket extensions, and one U-Joint type swivel in the middle of the extensions. Unless you are small, a big guy like me can't get down and under the dash easily. The bolt is hard to start (I used a cheater bar to start), but after that it comes off easy. I would try in different positions. Just put it on the screw (without the bolt), get in and try it. Remove and try another position. I found in the lowest hole worked best for me.

Easy to install, takes about 20 mins
A good fit in my 2023 Sahara, its not a 5 min install though, if you really want to get the fit right, you need to test out a few different heights. I would say takes about 20 mins. Just take the nut off from your car (they dont supply a nut, use the one on the screw at that location) and then put the dead pedal on, test it for the correct height before you screw the nut back on. If the height is wrong for your foot, try a different height on the screws that connect the pedal to the other piece of metal, there are 4 possible heights. Then once you are good, screw your nut back on tight.

Just what I was looking for!
Design is a bit awkward to assemble - difficult to fit the required 10mm in place. No instruction, but it is pretty self explanatory. Took a couple tries to get it to the right position (and I added a small stack of washers behind it to bring it a bit closer for my preferred location). Recommend tightening enough to hold position with care but loose enough to adjust while in position before final permanent attachment. After install it is a perfect addition. Great placement - strong - well built. I climbed in after install and my foot felt like it was in the perfect spot! Definitely a recommended addition for others. Already told my Jeep Buddy about it and sent pix.

Great inexpensive add on
After a recent road trip in my '21 JLU, I decided to get a dead pedal. I shopped around online until I found this one to try out. The pedal arrived in a simple cardboard box, no instructions, the bolt kit and Allen wrench were sealed in a small bag. It was easy to figure out how to install, the only complicated part was finding the correct position I liked through trial and error. Overall took less than 10 minutes with adjustments. The build seems to be of good quality and is very sturdy once fully installed.

Mostly sturdy but too much pressure WILL bend it
If you want a simple footrest for your Jeep Wrangler JL or Gladiator, this is great. It's reasonably priced and does its job. I used it on a 7 hour drive to my vacation spot and back and was a lot more comfortable than previous years. The steel is strong but thin in some places so be careful putting too much weight on it because it will likely warp or bend.

Hardest part...was "getting myself up in there" to remove, install pedal & replace the "nut"
Just like the headline says...that was the toughest part of this whole project. The dead pedal is very sturdy. No instructions as noted by other reviewers but pretty easy to figure out how to put together. The most challenging part of putting together is "guessing" which bolt hole to select and put the bolt/nut thru. Trial and error is the only solution. I ended up using the 3rd hole down from the top and the pedal fit great on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL.Recommend for all Jeep owners. Cheap upgrade that has immediate benefits.
