Good for the Soul
This was so refreshing to read and opened my mindset to realizing things I didn’t. I was doing that was ending up hurting me made me want to take a deeper perception on how I view myself and how I can take care of myself.

I wish I had read this when I was younger!
I cannot stress how much I loved this book! A lot of what I read I’ve learned through lived experience and I can look back and remember exactly when and how I learned it. But how gentler it would’ve been to learn it from a book than from the world. 10/10 recommend if you’re looking for a fun, freeing, and fierce self help (ish) book full of color, casual narrative, illustrations, and insight that will make you relook at yourself and the world around you. She’s also extremely inclusive of all identities and communities - on the second page she mentions ableism and its impacts on society; as a full time wheelchair user, I was sold instantly. In the wise words of Forence, “Life is too short not to love the sh*t out of yourself! You are the love of your own life, so start acting accordingly.”

Wanted to Love It- Still Love the Author
Much like some other reviews, my largest issue with this book is that it's essentially "Baby's First Introduction to Feminism." There was no discourse or groundbreaking concepts about feminism that I have not already thoroughly encountered- not even from reading feminists texts, but literally just on Instagram. This is a very baseline intro for someone who has not done any of their own reading or research but wants to get into self-empowerment and feminism. Additionally, this whole new trend of talking about being an 'empath' is a bit to woo-woo for me. Not every woman who is sensitive to the feelings of others is an empath. Most people aren't. There's just a lot of stuff in this book that's a bit too pseudo-spiritual for me. The art was really cool and I think that FG is awesome! It was just a really expensive purchase for essentially what I have already read and thus couldn't really emotionally connect with because this content is largely available from any loud feminist on the internet.

Eye opening, brilliant, honest. Florence Given will say it like it is. Everything you thought you knew about yourself and the way you’ve built your self confidence, you might need a step back and go through it again. Everything you did not want to deal with, she will take it out of you and make you face it. I suggest this book to every woman who needs to lift a huge middle finger to the world and might need a friend by her side while she does it. Facing your own flaws, talking about sexuality, setting boundaries, Florence is that friend through this journey. A thank you is not enough

Florence Given hat hier definitiv ein Werk abgeliefert, was einschlägt.
