Can this be consumed with the pod or just the seeds?

You can cook the entire pod which contains the seeds/spice in food or in chai or other liquids, bit the outer skin of the pod is not palatable (not poisonous, just very fibrous). I usually remove the seeds from the pods, grind them finely on a spice or coffee grinder, and use the fresh powder. The taste and fragrance of fresh ground is much stronger and once you grind your own you will never buy powdered again....when using in desserts you should definitely grind finely for better distribution of flavor. If you put whole pods into chai or coffee you should leave them much longer to allow the spice to come through the outer skin of the pod onto the liquid, and you may want to remove them before serving

Can these be roasted?

Yes they can. I roast them then add to my turkish coffee., rice meats.

In the description it says "authentic indian product". but down in the fine print it says "product of india / guatemala". so which is it?

Don't know probably mixed lot. If you care so much a better place would be to ask is vendor directly. Personally I'd rather it be from Guatemala than India....anyway no matter where pods come from quality is first class.

Great Product

The cardamoms were fresh and smells so good. The Quantity was great for the price.Cardamoms has great health benefits. I will be purchasing when these are finished. Love that the packaging was in a resealable bag to keep the freshness of the pods

Very potent flavor. Definitely want to grind it as finely as you can. Very dominant flavor though. A little will go a long way, and it's very easy to use too much.
