Picaridin Insect Repellent 3.4 oz Pump Spray – 12 Hour Bug Repellent Repels Mosquitoes, Ticks and More

A great alternative to DEET-- much less toxic, corrosive, and even smells better. This is so far the only thing that works on tropical mosquitoes, sand flies, and midges. Lasts for a few hours, even with heavy sweating. Pump spray is handy and you can put it in a checked bag on a plane.

I love this product. Insect repellents always have a peculiar smell, but this stuff does not smell bad and is not overpowering like most other insect repellents - and MOST IMPORTANTLY it really works to keep the insects away. I've found the pump to be really good quality - firm voluminous sprays with no clogging like many other small spray bottle pumps I've used in the past. Also, the plastic cap covering the spray nozzle is fairly thick and grabs on tight - so I have no issue putting this in a backpack or in the side-pocket of a car. Cheaper/thinner plastic caps I've used in the past have cracked, meaning the cap no longer does it's job and I can't be as portable with whatever the spray product is. Not the case here. Pro-tip: spray this in your car as well. I've found it creates a nice 'bug-barrier' for times when I'm in/around infested areas and don't want the insects following me in. I guess I wouldn't spray this on leather, but have found no issues spraying on my cloth seats.

Mixed feelings....It works well, like we do not get bites at all. however it is hard to get out and to spray on. it doesn't wipe well once it is on the skin so you have to spray it like 10 times for one leg and trying to get those angles can be tricky. I would buy it again because it works well, but maybe try to get a friend to apply it

After reading up on DEET vs picaridin, went with picaridin for my trip to mosquitoland because I don't like how DEET ruins your plastic gear. This worked fantastic and I didn't mind putting it on because the scent is mild, it wasn't greasy, and it stayed put with one application. I put it on over sunscreen and both worked. Not a single bite on areas that I sprayed, but others in my group were eaten alive. It leaves a slight sheen on your skin - no big deal. Very happy with this product.

This tiny bottle works miracles! The spray is potent and protects you like an aura of magic mosquito kryptonite. We sprayed as directed on the bottle. It is very long lasting and the scent is nice. We wore mosquito repellent bracelets and sprayed regularly. This size is perfect for travel, TSA approved, and we were able to take it with us on our tour and exploration adventures in thailand. The mosquitos in thailand are quite savage and their bites sting! Got bit 3x (had a massage and hadn't reapplied all day and lady took off repellent bracelet during thai massage). Never take off bracelets, always reapply accordingly, and take with you as needed. Great repellent and a little goes a long way!

The wife and I used this stuff exclusively on our trip to Africa. My wife attracts bug bites like crazy, so she started out by using stronger DEET stuff and "topping up" every now and then with this stuff. After a while, she stopped with the DEET and switched to this stuff exclusively. I used no DEET while over there, and used only this stuff. I sprayed this stuff on over top of my clothes - it did not hurt any of my clothing that I could tell. Even to this day I don't see any damage. (And the DEET did destroy some of my wife's clothes.) While we were in Africa during the low time for mosquitoes, I can say that I personally did not get even one bug bite. My wife did get one (in South Africa). That speaks volumes for this product. Normally, she would be eaten alive and I would get a couple. We were diligent about applying and came through with flying colors. I would expect this would work just as well during the high mosquito months - one just might have to apply it more often is all. If you are looking for something that is DEET free and works, this is what you want. It worked great for us!

This works really well to keep ticks and other insects away. The downside of the spray is that the mist is very fine and very irritating if you inhale it, affecting your lungs and mouth.. Of course there is a warning, to spray your hand and wipe it on your neck or other areas near your face, yet the mist seems to hang in the air. I suggest putting it on outside in a breeze or spray a cloth wrapped near the spray nozzle. The other option is to get the wipe on Natrapel pads and use them - no mist. Other products have irritating chemicals, just not as potent it seems.

This is the best insect repellent I’ve ever used. I took it on vacation to Costa Rica and wasn’t affected by any mosquitoes.
