The for dummies books are always great.
Bought for one of my kids. The For Dummies books are always a great add in to tutoring. Complicated stuff explained in laymen's terms.

classroom use
I teach Physics and our school does not have a physics text book since we do most of the course work on line. I needed a simple way to fill in the gaps for what we were getting on line and what we were doing in the classroom. The Physics for Dummies series was a great resource. The exercises were practical and easy for the students to understand. I really like the relationship between the books and the workbook. This has been really useful for my students.

Great explainations
I am in an astronomy class and really needed some physics help because the Astronomy book seems to assume i have some basics in physics down! I do not! The class has no math requirements so i expected more step by step instructions. I am finding this books simple explanations and walk through to be helpful in understanding what my textbook wants!I recommend this book as a great companion guide to any class like astronomy, if you want to know WHY you are doing what your doing!By this i mean, anyone can "plug and play" a formula, but if you want to understand Why you are doing what your doing this book helps!

Makes Physics Easy to Understand
My university physics textbook is impossible to understand. The combination of the bad textbook and my professor's thick accent makes physics unenjoyable. I still don't care for physics...but this book has made everything MUCH simpler. One paragraph in this book sums up an entire chapter in mine. The author (Steven Holzner) has a quirky sense of humor, too, which makes me smile every once in awhile. It's mostly trig based...this book won't cover everything for a calc-based physics class.

Saved my grade
I made it halfway through physics one without needed any help. Once that midterm hit, the concepts became a bit more complex then I was able to handle. This book basically explains things in a way thats easy and actually realistic and saved my grade. In the book it points out specific concepts and equations to remember (big helper). Honestly I probably wouldn't have passed without the help of this book!

Excellent Review
Unlike others may be, I was not new to physics upon reading this text. I needed review for a state certification test, and this book is wonderful going over the basics of Physics 1, in a way much more understandable than Physics textbooks are. The chapters are arranged in a logical order. The examples are a bit cheesy, but somehow make it more fun to read through and understand physics concepts in real life scenarios.

Easy to understand, so much good info
Finally found the formula for degrees to radians... It doesn't exist on the internet apparently and noone in the real world knows what the hell you're talking about.
