SKLZ Refiner Driver Graphite Pro-Hinged Training Club

I was hesitant to buy any golf training aid as I believe most of them are ripoffs but I decided to pull the trigger on this since I am inconsistent with the driver.I got the product faster than I anticipated. Its weight and feel are similar to the driver I normally use. The Refiner is aptly named as it really does "refine" your swing. It has helped me learn to slow down my takeaway and given me more power since now I can utilize a full swing.As is mentioned in other reviews, it won't teach you a golf swing or make you an instant tour pro but it will definitely aid the novice/weekend golfer to become more confident with the driver. If you are a top notch golfer, don't waste your time with this club or reading this review.The bad news: there is no other info on how to use the club, how to make adjustments, etc. There is a small info card on the sleeve (and who reads directions anyway) which was good enough for me but I know many folks who would want more detailed information on the product.Great club. I highly recommend it for the casual golfer.

Ok.. a lil about myself.. just started to learn how to hit the golf ball 3 weeks ago. Got the SKLZ golf net 8x8, started wacking the balls everyday, saw some improvement, but swing still lack something. Then I shelled out 60 bucks for this thing thanks to all the positive reviews. Just got this today and went outside to start messing around with it. If u can manage to swing up and down to make contact w/o the hinge coming apart, u are on ur way. I still break the hinge on the follow thru but i can work on that later. Now here is the amazing thing: when i switched back to the regular driver, suddenly my swings were smoother, more fluid, more relax, and started making solid contacts. The best part of all, started hearing that WHOOSH sound the club make when ur swing is solid and relax and the ball fly in a straight line. Not taking any lesson cuz I don' do well when someone is verbally instructing. Learn everything from youtube.

This club is made well but I haven't hit many golf balls with it yet. It is very hard to get a solid hit with this club but that is what practice is for. I watched the youtube videos for the club and after you get the screws adjusted it does help you with tempo. I may be the only one but it has taught me how to swing back smoothly and come down while keeping my form in check. I will use it more and if my experience changes I will revise the review but so far so good. Its worth the cost since a lesson at the range costs about the same and at least you have the club to take with you to the course for a quick reminder swing.

I think this swing trainer is good for a few things but not the secret to driving success, maybe just a hint.I purchased it for one thing, to slow my backswing and create a smooth transition from back to downswing. I believe it is good for that. I haven't used it extensively yet but I have used it and it does train me to swing slower. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to stop it from breaking at the completion of my swing. I can swing it back, down and through but when the club hits the back of my neck/shoulders/upper back area, it breaks every single time. I've tried to stop it but refuse to slow down at that point.A little about me, my swing speed is consistently clocked 110mph+. Maybe that has something to do with it.I'm pretty sure you could still slice, hook, top, skull, chilli-dip, shank, and worm burn the ball with a nice smooth tempo this club creates. But, the smooth tempo is a start.

It works as described, but it is not a fix all. It never broke on me. What this can fix isn't the area of my golf swing that I have problems with. I gave up and started taking lessons. I have dropped 10 strokes since then. I gave it five stars because it does what is says, it just wasn't what I needed.
