Q: Can you use this in a wood ceiling?

I don't know that it would work for you on a wood ceiling. It works great on a popcorn ceiling because it conforms around the dimples. You do have to follow the normal procedures of painting a popcorn ceiling with single strokes, not back and forth action like you normally paint.

Q: Will this work well for "knock down" textured ceilings?

Worked great on my popcorn ceiling

Q: Does this splat paint back at you? Do they make a roller shield for this?

I did ceiling and had know issues
