Q: Are they thick enough to cover a black canvas?

With black canvas coverage, it will be more about the opacity level than the thickness. Opacity ratings are transparent, semi-transparent, semi-opaque, and opaque. So the more opaque the color is rated, the more coverage you will achieve with layering or mixing colors. This set comes with 10 colors: Titanium White 105 (Opaque), Azo Yellow Light 268 (Semi-Opaque), Azo Yellow Deep 270 (Semi-Opaque), Azo Red Medium 393 (Semi-Opaque), Quinacridone Rose 366 (Transparent), Ultramarine 504 (Transparent), Cerulean Blue Phthalo 535 (Opaque), Permanent Green Deep 619 (Semi-Opaque), Burnt Umber 409 (Semi-Transparent), and Ivory Black 701 (Opaque).

Q: How long does the ivory black take to dry? I’m new to oil paints so I don’t know how long each color takes to dry.

A few days on canvas, at least a week before display. If texture is thick maybe two weeks.
