DXR-8 v1.40 Stand-alone Monitor Unit with 2 USB Power Cables (without Camera Unit and Battery)

I love this monitor. We have had great luck with it. We have tried a Motorola and a Samsung model, and think this one is the best. The signal is only disrupted if the phone or computer device is right next to monitor when downloading. Has a good range. We started to have a problem with the battery charge. We noticed it would drain quickly if not immediately when unplugged. My husband took the back off and unplugged the battery and plugged it back in. Turns out the battery connection had come loose. I drop this thing on a regular basis, so it only makes sense that it could disconnect. My only dislike is that the charging cord isn't longer. I knock the monitor off the nightstand nightly due to the short cord... I recommend giving it a try. Great price for the quality. Annnd... It's the only monitor I've tried with decent night vision. Had the set up over a year with two cameras. It wasn't our first pick but will be our last.

The entire unit is great when it is working.I bought this stand alone monitor after the USB port became loose on my last unit so my monitor didn't charge.Needless to say after only two months guess what .... the USB jack is totally loose on this monitor and not charging the unit.Totally bummer because the image quality is great but if the monitor doesn't work, then the unit is completely useless.

So glad this is stold separately. I had the kit and love this set. I dropped the display from a high up place and it shattered into a million pieces (my fault). After that I freaked out and expected to have to purchase an entirely new set. Turns out you can pick this up and sync it to your camera really easily. Works just as well as the one in the kit, same manufacturer so this is an OEM replacement.

we bought this as a replacement. The first one stopped working without being plugged in about 5 months after buying it. we dealt with that for another 6 months or so then finally bought this and a spare battery. after about a month it stopped working at all. It wouldn't charge or work while plugged. We sent it back to amazon and that was painless enough, now we are trying to find an alternative video monitor.

We received the DXR-8 as a gift for our baby. We were very pleased with the original product which we began using May 2016. After 11 months, the power input jack became detached from the circuit board and the battery ceased charging. 11 months is not great, but after only a month, the same problem has struck the replacement monitor unit (to which this review pertains). Great software and hardware, except for the power input jack. Given this recurring problem, however, I cannot recommend that anyone purchase the DXR-8 or any other Infant Optics product. Being able to charge an electronic device is critical to using it, so the DXR-8 is mostly useless.

Would have been a great monitor if it actually kept a charge. After 8 months, I had to return one of the monitors since the battery would no longer hold a charge. Now, my other monitor, after using for one year, also will not hold a charge. Pretty useless to me now. I have 2 cameras and one monitor that doesn't even function properly.

great monitor, but battery life decreases over time and we have to leave it plugged in at this point (3 years of use). added a second camera to the system seamlessly and they work well. there are connection issues at times, but that's pretty rare. I've seen other monitor systems and I'm happy that we chose this one.

I broke the monitor coming with the bundle, so I bought this one as a replacement, as good as the original, no complains.The only thing is mine didn't come with a battery, so for me there was no problem, I just used the one on the broken one, but if you want it as a second camera the battery missing may be an issue.
