I wish I had known...
I just got this Two Little Fishies media reactor set up last week. For what I need, running De*Nitrate at less than 50gph. which is slower than either the canister or HOB could do, it seems to be doing a great job. Water in...water out. No leaks, noise or drama. I’m aware that it will be at least 30 or 45 days before I see a noticeable change in nitrates. I did a little reading prior to buying and decided to go with the Two Little Fishies unit because I could get the pump and hoses that I wanted. I had planned to put the reactor down in the cabinet so I wanted a pump that could make the lift back up. This 400gph unit seemed to be the best specs for the money. https://www.amazon.com/FREESEA-Submersible-Fountain-Hydroponics-aquaponic/dp/B078M6HNC2 . I found some ½” I.D black vinyl hose here on Amazon but any kind of ½” hose would work. When I got into it, I decided that a hang on back installation would work better/easier, so that was that. I have about 19 feet of black vinyl hose left over. I wish I had known that the ball valve and hose clamps came with the reactor. 🤦🏻♂️ I bought both the valve and a gillion piece set of the little squeeze clips that was suggested (that ended up not working correctly) so I ended up spending 26 bucks more than I had to. I don’t mind having a spare ball valve but the little squeeze clips are useless. However, I wouldn’t bother to put on a mask and go into Kohl’s to return it. I just wish the seller what come or does not come with the reactor. I found that small zip ties made much nicer and tighter hose clamps. I also recommend that anyone who is planning on hanging the reactor on the back to also buy the Two Little Fishies extension kit. https://www.amazon.com/Two-Little-Fishies-PhosBan-Extension/dp/B00176CM2A . This makes for a much cleaner installation. I’m going to order a second one for the output side.

Great value, works well, no clogging.
This is the best reactor for the money. It’s actually a bargain. I have it hooked up to a small 185 gph ac pump with the adjustable valve that came included. I use it to run GFO when needed. Right now I am running a bag of cupisorb in it to remove copper from a treating tank. I highly recommend this for when you need it - hangs on the back of your glass or in sump and has never leaked. Good value.

Great Reactor; Some Tips For People Planning On Getting This
The first time I tried to use this I couldn’t figure out why my reactor was leaking. After some investigation I found that while first setting it up the O ring in the lid had accidentally fallen out. Make sure when you receive it that you don’t make my mistake. Once I solved that issue it worked like a charm. I actually prefer these to the BRS reactors. The BRS reactors have a separate container for the media which makes removal easier, but this reactor is much easier to open. If you don’t mind having to rinse the reactor out when changing media and want something easier to open I would go with this reactor all the way. If you have trouble with the foam inside clogging try getting two reactors and stuffing the first one with filter floss. It makes maintaining the reactor much easier as long as you check the flow once in a while to make sure your flow is running correctly.

Been around for years
Use it to run gfo in my reef tank. These have been around forever and work quite well. The biggest issue is that the rubber elbow pieces will eventually crack and leak water, but you can purchase new ones separately to replace them. I use a maxi-jet 400 to push water through it a d the flow is perfect for tumbling the gfo.

Two Little Fishes Reactors
I purchased two of these TLF reactors so that I could run them in series. I decided to run D-Nitrate in One and Activated Carbon in the other to try and bring the Nitrate/Nitrite numbers down in my 75 gallon ref. To early to tell yet whether these two have actually reduced my numbers, but there is no doubt that the water in the tank is now more crystal clear than before. Is it the carbon in the reactor along with less feeding that is clearing up the water cloumn, or is it just the fact that the Reef is now more mature than it was before this installation? Only time will tell how effective these are in reducing the Nitrate level in the reef. As for hooking them up in series, they do require some minor engineering and plumbing alterations, but if you are adpt at working with a refugium, and a somewhat sophisticated sump, this should be a piece of cake. I say should because I have a great plumbing supply house nearby, with a great salesman who will stop at nothing to keep the number of pieces in play to get this running at a minimum. If you only have a Lowes or Home Depot nearby, or a good hardware store, you can generally find the necessary items there to accomplish the task. I would have rated these a 5 "Star" item had I found the inclusion of the necessary plumbing parts included in the original packaging. As far as bang for the buck is concerned, these certainly meet that criteria and i would highly reccommend them to other mixed reef keepers looking to inexpensively add Phosphate or nitrate reactors to their systems.

Nice Reactor but Has Room for Improvement
This is a nice reactor that I am using for phosban and charcoal and does what it is designed for. However I have had two issues with this product; 1: it is extremely difficult for me to remove the top for servicing, I feel like I'm going to break it trying to open the top. I cannot grasp the top and open it by hand, I have to put the extension nipples in a slot or vise like opening to hold and turn. 2: one of the two reactors I have leaks from the top seal. No matter how much I clean or tighten, it leaks enough where I have a salt residue down the side of the reactor. I have even tried an o-ring lubricant and the top is still difficult to remove and it still leaks. Kinda disappointing. I have also had the included sponges clog pushing my phosban to the top of the chamber before the phosban is due to be changed so this has added some additional maintenance. On the good side, the up-flow principal works and it is easily adjustable with the flow valve. The reactor is clear so its contents is easily visible.

Davvero ben fatto! Non ho usato i gomiti in gomma o il rubinetto perché avevo i miei. Gira appeso con pompa in vasca senza la minima perdita da quasi un mese. Attenzione, nel libretto c'è scritto di non montare pompe oltre 1000/h.

I’ve been running the PhosBan Reactor 150 on my 300 L reef tank for about 5 weeks, and it’s been stellar. Setup was a breeze—just added my own tubing and pump (I used a 150 L/hr unit throttled down with the included ball valve). What I love: • Spot-on phosphate control — after filling it with GFO media, phosphate levels dropped from 0.15 ppm to under 0.03 ppm within a week. No more nuisance algae, and corals look brighter. • Small footprint — it fits neatly in my sump and even hangs behind the tank without taking up much space.

In first 3 minutes the plastic small L tube felt and after one week head covers felt and caused big water mass!!! And because is made in China!!!! I think because!!!!

A lot of media reactors either don’t have all the pieces or leak like crazy. This one works, comes with easy soft rubber elbow pieces (with little cable ties included for extra security) a good ball valve and plenty of hose. Soak the hose in near boiling water to get it onto the barbs, but otherwise it was super easy. Been running as a sand filter about 3-4 weeks no issues so far
