I bought this one for my son, I use mine EVERY season with great results
For the true hunters: This Hyper Lip is one of my most valuable cow calls I use every season. VERY loud without the converter on, cow calls will carry for hundreds of yards even in a stiff wind. I use this and my mouth diaphragm calls to bring in those bulls (or stupid spike elk). I love the variances I can make with my mouth calls, but this one is reliable every time I give it a go. Great for really aggressive calling when you have a stubborn bull hanging back in the trees not wanting to unmask. My son is 10 this year and went bow hunting with me last year. This one is for him to start learning on so he can help me "create" another estrus cow out in the sticks! Never go without. The hoochie mama is okay, but you only get one sound out of it. You can really get whining on this bad boy! Give it a go!

This is a great cow call
This is a great cow call. I lost my last one and purchased this as a replacement. the sound quality is great. It makes it easy to make a wide range of smooth sounding calls. I love the option to use with or without the rubber end. I use it without when calling to elk that are a little further out or there is background noise. I used it two weeks ago to call an elk that was across a noisy creek on a windy day. I also used it with the tone converter for some very close range calling. I kept six cows within fifty yards for almost half an hour with it. My friend and I both killed elk this season using this call.

I think because the elk were still pretty high up
Been practicing for my hunt for about a month with this call. I tried the reeds and couldn't get the knack of it. My September hunt wasn't fruitful, I think because the elk were still pretty high up. BUT, I heard one elk in the evening on my hunt and I called to him with this and it worked quite well.. surprisingly. He returned my calls 4 times and circled around me to get downwind. I couldn't get him out of the brush because it was already well past dark, but maybe next time :)

Practice makes perfect!
This call adds the raspy tone I like. As with any call, you want the first tones out of the call to be absolutely correct. When you've gat a bull at 60 yards and you want him at 30 you can't have an "oops" tone. This call requires you to do your homework. Practice, practice, practice. Keep it in your truck and use it! After a week or so you will find you can pick it up and get the tone you want first time most of the time. Practice some more! You want the tone you want first time every time! Super raspy. Super variable. Great call. Just give it the practice it requires and it will do you very well!
