IonAudio Rock Block | Palm-Sized Wireless Bluetooth Speaker with 1/8" Input (15W)

We have the super big brother Block Party at home in CA but needed a smaller version with just audio for my wife's Hula dance for my Father's 95th birthday celebration and this was just the ticket!! Plenty of volume and good audio quality for something this small!!! Couldn't believe when the package arrived that the product was actually inside the small package but performs great! Bluetooth linked easily with the iPad!! Great value and fast Amazon 2 day Prime delivery!!

The speaker itself has worked well since 2014 when I purchased it. The sound quality still surprises everyone who hears this little speaker when it's playing music. With that said, the lithium battery finally stopped holding a charge. For $7 I was able to find the exact same model to replace it. I thought it would be quick and easy, but the old battery was soldered to the controller board. The replacement battery had a 2 pin connector, so I broke out my soldering equipment and installed 2 pins for the battery, extended the wires on the new battery, and installed the battery. Everything works great now, although I took off 1 star because I was disappointed it was such a project to replace a battery. At least now, in the future, I can swap the battery out much more easily with the modification I made to the controller board. If you don't have soldering experience, practice before you attempt anything like this.

Don't waste your time. This is the second Ion Rock Block Speaker I have purchased from Amazon since before Christmas. Originally bought as a Christmas gift, upon opening by the recipient, the speaker would not operate even after fully charging it. Reordered a second one from a different seller for more money. Still doesn't function so returning that one, also. At least Amazon makes the return process as easy as possible and credits your account before they even receive the item back. But that's the ONLY good part of the process. What's really a shame is this can be an excellent little speaker when it's not defective. I purchased one from Costco over a year ago and it is still going strong. Something has happened to the manufacturing, apparently, since then. Amazon should stop selling these at all.

A friend of mine has the "Job Rocker" by Ion. I was really impressed by the sound quality battery life and the simplicity. I figured this Rock Block was worth a try at this price. So far I am just as impressed with this little guy as its big brother. This truly is a mini version of the Job Rocker. Absolutely worth the price!

Bought at Costco for $29. Works good but I don't like the fact that it turns off even when hooked into USB power source. Have to keep turning it on if you leave it unattended. I use it for my computer and would like it to stay on while plugged in.

Here is the deal, it just didn't work. It wouldn't hold the charge. I did still connect it to my phone, I did play some music while it was plugged in but then I would try to turn up the volume and it would shut off. It was really disappointing because from the sound it did produce it sounded like a great little speaker.

The speakers sound great. A little disappointed because I bought two thinking I would be able to sync them, but have not been able to.
