Amazing Dynamic Range
amazing sound; vibrant, punchy, very dynamic range, extremely customizable with all of your options with EQ tuning and the cross fader settings; very good quality. 5 stars !! For a 2 way speaker, I give it 9/10 stars its amazing.for the price; this is worth every penny, this is the studio equivalent to 3-5 thousand dollar speakers, possibly even more expensive, so for what you are paying. This is an extremely well rounded package, it has the street cred, it stands out, go with FoCal audio !!

lively speaker
The focal KRX2 6.5 inch two way speakers are significant improvement over the previous model, with a overhauled Tweeter and crossovers that are not as bright or harsh as previous focals, but still retain a lively forward sound. They will definitely make a dull, flat recordings more exciting and up front, highlighting detail.Poorly produced, bright sounding recordings will be revealed quite easily with the speakers. Careful set up with Tweeter arrangements is very important to avoid any overly bright or forward sound with the speakers,as well as proper EQ. They also require significant break in time, at least 40 hours plus to reach a more dynamic sound. Well produced recordings will really shine on the speakers as you would hear things in the upper frequencies for the first time, transforming your conception of the performance.Bass responce is taunt & tight but not over blown, a good sub to match makes this set sound full.

bmw e53 install
If anyone is wondering whether you can install these in a bmw e53 x5, well yes, you can. With slight modification. As you see in the picture I made it fit in the factory housing. These will not fit right in. The only speakers that I've tried that will are the JBL GTOs, you just have to saw off the bracket where the bolts go in order to make it completely round and you can glue them right in without modifying the housing. With these you will need to cut the upper part of the housing and glue (4 screws and epoxy jb weld from home depot) the speaker to the bottom part and then reattach the upper part (superglue) Since the circumference of the speaker is slightly larger you will have to cut the upper part, hence the little gap that you see in the picture. Other than that you will have a pretty standard factory like installation. If you take it to a professional installer they will most likely tell you that they would have to custom build a housing. Which obviously will cost a lot of labor. Don't bother, you can do this yourself.

you can afford it
I got these used after looking for nearly a decade on Craigslist. in my personal opinion, I have yet to hear anything better. I heard alpine Type R components are pretty good for the money, I have heard some custom put together stereos like Seas audio with digital crossovers and separate high amps, JL competition car, etc. I think for the price you could probably get something around $500 that will sound similar. There is definitely a law of diminishing returns here. however, after owning these, I would never pay this much for new speakers, but im waiting for the day these break, as I will dread having to dish out $1k for another set, but I won't be able to listen to anything else again. BTW, I have all focal amps, which I don't like that much but are decent, but I had a kenwood double din, it sounded off, something wasn't right, I got the pioneer avic NEX apple carplay, it sounded night and day difference from the kenwood head unit, all other components being the same. now I just need to finish sound deadening. I have also been a fan of Focal after hearing their home audio.

the separation is so good and the clarity so precise I listen to one ...
This is what I have to say about them...Every time I listen to a song I get to go back and listen 3-5 more times, the reason? These speakers are so defined, the separation is so good and the clarity so precise I listen to one instrument for the whole song, then go back and listen to another instrument etc. I am simply blown away as to how friggin great these speakers are, Daft Punks, "contact" has a whole new meaning through a set of Focals. I have a set of Polk in the rear and I switch my fader back to them every now and then and its like I am fading into a muddy swamp, haha. They are pricey but wow 5 times the fun for sure:) You can save money using "Frost King" ac foil backed roll for sound deadening, it worked fantastic and 3 rolls did all 4 doors. Make sure to remove the plastic on original door or these speakers will rattle the them like crazy though.

AUDIO BLISS
Excellent components. I am not using the supplied xover but wouldn't be afraid to if I ditch the Mosconi DSP. I bought a set of Flax series first and the shop where I bought them let me upgrade to these...holy cow. I ditched the rear speakers...when you start reproducing great sound in an auto, "rear fill" is very hard to master without confusing your ears(brain). Anyway, consider pushing these with a good amp(Mosconi AS) and you will be in an audio bliss!!!!PLEASE be sure to sound deanden doors, roof and floor if you can. It will only make your system "pop" even more...trust me.
