First of all as a disclaimer,I really didn’t buy this to deal with the cold,I dive in tropical Caribbean waters and the temperatures don’t really warrant. However my hair is a but long and can get behind my mask and make it leak. So I got this just to cover my hair. But my head does feel much warmer with this on, so it works but it is just not what I got it for.I purchased an XL which is snug but not overwhelming. I could have probably gotten away with a size large instead be oh well. The only modification I made was to put holes that lined up with my ear holes. Because this hood does cut out a lot of sound, like any good would I imagine. So I headed up a small nail and burned a while on each side where my ears are. This works perfectly as I can hear much better. I dive areas where there is occasional boat and Jetski traffic, and although I use a float to stay ,I really on my hearing to know what’s around me, and also to hear my dive buddies if they’re speaking to me. All in all, great hood, the stitching seems very well made, and it looks like it will last a long time.

I am of healthy weight but have a slight double chin. This hood felt too tight for comfort on my neck, but my husband’s fit his fine. I just cut the face hole on mine a bit lower so I could adjust the fit, and it’s great now. I am happy with mine now that I made that easy alteration.

I've only used this a handful of times but so far I'm very pleased with it. In 50 deg F water it performed very well with a snug fit and plenty of thermal insulation. It seems well built with good stitching and looks like it will hold up well to regular use. I'll update if I have any issues.

This good quality neoprene hood. It provides good underwater warmth. The material is stretchy so it's easy to get on and off. My hair is relatively short, so I don't know if someone with long hair would have a different experience. The hood does not interfere with my scuba mask. The thickness of the material is supposed to be 3mm and it feels the same as my 3mm wetsuit. I followed the given size chart and ordered the appropriate size. It fits well.

I wear hat sizes 7 3/8 - 7 1/2 and I got a Large, and it's still tight on my head. It squishes my ears quite uncomfortably. It's also not very stylish and look kinda silly. I think it'll be ok to use for scuba diving or snorkeling, but I wouldn't use it for surfing or any active watersport as the neck movements are restricted.
